A positive attitude gives u power over ur circumstances rather than letting ur circumstances having power over u. I’m amazed at how much I’m enjoying this cutting process this year but it’s a testament to my mindset. Easy isn’t the word I would use but when ur focused and stuck on an elevated level it makes getting what needs to get done a lot more manageable. This year’s theme for me is to practice this mental exercise as much as I lift these weights. @shredz www.ajfit.online

Visualize: I think it’s very important to have a picture in ur head of what it looks like to see ur goal thru to the end. Then work backwards from there. As corny as it sounds visualizing teaches ur brain to recognize what resources it will need to help u succeed in reaching ur goals. It also promotes positive thinking, which will help u to stay on track to be successful in the long run. #stayontrack www.ajfit.online

Re-edit: Mindset has the power to change the mood or cadence of ur workout. Ive had countless training sessions where I’ve gone in feeling exhausted and worn out before I’ve even started. Midway thru realizing my bitchassness, switched my playlist to something aggressive and totally turn my workout around to finish it with a bang and salvaging the workout. This mindset exercise actually works in REAL LIFE too! It’s just an exercise for the mind just like u would train ur muscles. U just need loads of repetition with consistency. The dope part is u can train it daily and not overtrain... I’m starting to enjoy these second (sometimes 3rd) late night grind sessions as it’s become a weekly thing. #nobitchassness 📹 @familyandmuscle @shredz  www.ajfit.online

Here’s a proper #waybackwednesday from 2012 @wbff_official World Championships. U can’t look at someone else’s 17 years of grind and expect to get that urself in 5 months. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being inspired by others but just know u can’t speed up time (or the process). If ur moved by the people u admire just be ready to put in a similar level of effort and time to cultivate ur goal/dream. @paul_dillett Go for yours!! www.ajfit.online

No jazzy editing post: I like using machines after I’ve done the bulk of my work with free weights as i believe it to be much safer when carrying on with moving heavy weight. This allows me to keep focused on lifting heavy without having to worry about stabilizing the weights once I’m fatigued. www.ajfit.online 📹@familyandmuscle @shredz

What’s so dope about “personal goals,” is that it’s just that... Personal!  Setting personal goals is one of the most life changing, challenging things u can do. U not only learn about urself and what ur made of in the process but also discover what u truly want out of life. It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut living day by day and simply going with the flow, just doing what u need to get through the day without a bigger picture in mind. Setting personal goals will not only give u a long-term vision but also short-term purpose and motivation. Setting a goal and seeing a vision helps u focus on ur future and make small, progressive steps towards accomplishment. @shredz  www.ajfit.online

Still carrying on with this structured eating, lifting things and elevating my heart rate above 144bpm for a duration of 40min to an hour daily and this is the out come of that consistency. Sitting at 211.4lbs this morning and feeling really well considering the daily output. Oh I’m 5’11 for those that are so inquisitive about my height. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Onward and upward! www.ajfit.online  @shredz

About a year and a half ago @chrisimpossiblefilms talked me into getting in front of the camera to talk about ME. I was super uncomfortable with the idea but also willing to accept the challenge to overcome one of my insecurities and along the way share some things that most people don’t know about me. In this video clip I’ve posted on YouTube I speak on passion, insecurities, goals and taking action. I really hope this video/message really hits close to home with a handful of people.
