I do not believe in New Year resolutions - not too many are followed through on a long term. The best time to create a goal and put action into making it real is NOW. Here is a very basic hamstring stretch, but very beneficial when done right. To avoid an injury, place the foot of the bent leg in the inside thigh of the leg to be stretched. Hold the stretch for 20 seconds or so and switch. Come out of the stretch very slowly.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the image on the left. However, there is something almost magical that happens when you set a goal for yourself, follow through, create the habits, and get to where you want. It raises your self worth, it empowers you, it gives you the certainty that since you made that happen, you can achieve anything else. Once you create better daily habitual behaviours in one area, it's easy to apply the newly found strength and will into other areas. Following your passion, the ultimate goal, can be tackled now. Following your passion is being who you truly are, it is the ultimate self expression. 
Set one goal for yourself today, think of the smallest ambition you have. Then follow through like a robot. Once you achiev it, you'll realize how easy it actually really was.

Heart and soul warming squash soup ❤ Squash is packed with vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, E, B, Niacin, Potassium, Magnesium, Copper, Calcium, Iron and more. It boosts the immune system, it's anti-inflammatory, helps manage diabetes due to its B complex vitamin content, prevents infections, improves lung health, protects the heart, regulates blood circulation, improves vision and strengthens bones. The only word of caution is that squash can lower blood pressure, which can be a problem if you suffer of low blood pressure to begin with.
HERE IS MY SQUASH SOUP RECIPE:
- 1 squash
- 1 large onion
- garlic
- 2 carrots
- 1 potatoe
Peel the squash, cut it in cubes and steam it until soft (I don't like boiling my veggies, as boiling strips them of valuable nutrients). Save the boiling water from steaming.
Dice the onion, carrots, potatoe, garlic, and saute them until soft. Add salt and pepper. Put everything (squash and sauteed veggies) in a food processor. Add some of the water from when you steamed the squash. Put everything into a clean pot. If you find the mixture too thick, add more of the water from steaming the squash. You really don't need to use broth, the soup will be very tasty from all the vegetables you use. When you take the soup off the heat, add olive oil. I personally never cook the Olive oil as it can turn toxic. By using it at the end, you get all its wonderful benefits. You can also add a bit of full fat cream at the end (I'm not an advocate of low-fat or fat-free diary products) and fresh parsley. ENJOY 😌

The old fashioned leg lifts still work wonders today. Keep your back strong and lift your arms to challenge the core. You do 20 of these each leg, very slow and controlled, and I can guarantee you'll feel it the next day. Want to take it to the next level? Enzymes are the blocks on which the entire human body is built on - to put it simply, we would not be alive if it weren't for these miracle workers. One great way to enjoy life-giving enzymes (aside from eating fermented foods and fresh fruit & vegetables), is by sprouting seeds. Here is how to do it: buy a sprouting jar that has a special perforated lid (you can also use a regular mason jar and make a few wholes in the lid.) Put 1 tablespoon of brocoli seeds or mixed seeds in the jar. Rinse and drain. Let the jar with the lid on in an inclined position on a tray so the water drips out, to avoid the sprouts getting mouldy.  Rinse them daily. Less then a week later you'll have beautiful sprouts like these! SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE! Salmon and salad make a perfect lunch or dinner. It contains all the elements for a complete meal, which is protein, good fats and carbs. When you have a complete meal, you help the body maintain its insulin levels steady, and as a result you don't deposit fat (unless you overeat). Salmon has incredible fats that help the brain and skin, and it's a great source of protein. If you're watching your weight, then make sure your portion is the size and thickness of your palm. It only takes 15 to 20 minutes to prepare this dish.
RECIPE: Season salmon with sea salt and pepper and place in a hot pan lightly coated with grapeseed or olive oil (grapeseed has a higher smoking point, and it won't become toxic when heated). Cover the pan and let the salmon "steam" so it cooks all the way through faster. After 5 minutes or so turn the salmon on the other side and cover again. Here is my personal touch: when I take the salmon off the stove, I pour the juice of a whole lemon over the salmon, which creates an AMAZING sauce. Add fresh parsley. Make a salad with greens & onions as a side dish.  Enjoy :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone ❤  this year I made the usual turkey and side dishes, but I also like to bring to my family's table a traditional Romanian dish. This year I made Salata de Boeuf (beef salad). Except I replaced the beef with turkey. This delicious cold salad is made of healthy root vegetables, and it's enjoyed by everyone! Here is the RECIPE.
- 3 large carrots
- 2 parsnips
- 4 large potatoes
- 1/4 turkey breast (or any meat of your preference)
- 1 small jar pickles (cucumbers in vinegar)
- 3/4 to 1 cup mayonnaise (I usually make my own from eggs and olive oil, but today I used the organic soy mayonnaise which is equally delicious)
- 2-3 tablespoons mustard
- salt and pepper
Cut carrots, parsnips and potatoes in small cubes of equal size, and steam them until soft but not mushy. I always steam my veggies (not boil) as they hold more of their nutrients, and I feel they taste better. Boil the meat in salted water, then dice same as the veggies. Dice the pickles in cubes as well. In a bowl combine the steamed veggies, pickles, meat, mustard, mayo, and mix gently. Salt and pepper to taste. Place on a dish, spread a thin layer of mayo on top, and decorate with thinly sliced pickles. Enjoy!

There is nothing else that defines us more than our habits.  Everything that we do,  from how we eat and exercise,  to how we talk,  what we believe in, even the way we cross our arms, are the result of habits.  How we perceive life around us, whether we allow stress to get the best of us, whether we're generally more positive or negative,  even our characters,  are all the result of our habits.  Although habits are not easy to break, it is 100 % possible to eliminate any habit regardless of how deeply ingrained it might be.  All you need is to be definite in your goal,  persist,  and have patience. My daughter made this amazing ICED COFFEE yesterday. Here is the RECIPE: First freeze 12 cubes of coffee and  5 cubes full fat cream. In a blender put the 12 iced cubes of coffee, the 5 iced cubes of cream, 2 - 3 tablespoons of honey, 1 cup of milk (she replaced the milk with rice milk). Mix them and pour the mixture in 2 glasses. Top with home made wipping cream. WIPPED CREAM RECIPE: mix heavy cream with brown sugar and vanilla, until the mixture thickens (approximately 5 min). I always use organic and full fat ingredients. De-fatted dairy is detrimental to the body and does not help with fat loss. As a matter of fact, they get deposited as fat as opposed to beeing broken down.
