A couple of years ago I stood in the middle of the bookstore and cried while I read @cordell_matthew 's WISH. Not a quiet cry, but a runny nosed, trying to stifle my sobs so as not to alarm my fellow bookstore patrons kind of cry. At that point Bill and I had been trying for 3 years to have a baby and had gone through lots of tests and procedures, a major surgery, and a miscarriage (another major surgery, a minor surgery, and several more tests and procedures would follow). I bought a copy of WISH that day with the hope that someday, one way or another, I would have a child of my own to read the book to.
And now, I'm very happy to say that soon Bill and I will have twins, a boy and a girl, and WISH is the first book I'll read to them (although i know i won't get through it without crying). Most of all I want to say that if you are struggling with fertility problems or the loss of a pregnancy, I'm so sorry and I understand and I'm thinking of you.
And thank you to Matthew Cordell for making this beautiful, hopeful book. - 9 months ago
