Superset describes a training approach where we perform two exercises in a row with little to no rest between sets. Their effectiveness is in that allow us to:
✅ help save time by reducing rest intervals
✅ overload the muscle for increased muscle growth
✅ increase the intensity of our workouts which helps us break through those plateaus.

When training it is always good to revisit the positions that hone and refine our movements. Today’s more sedentary lifestyle makes this even more important than ever before. The half kneeling position is a useful tool to improve these qualities - try them out! #YMFitness

Quick Tip: You can incorporate the half kneeling position for numerous exercise (lat pulldown, landmine press, etc.) as it helps improve trunk stability.

Good things come to those who squat! #YMFitness

When performing the squat, I prefer to progressively load the muscle in a pyramid scheme. When I reach the max weight for that day I stay at that weight for 2-3 sets before climbing back down to lighter weights. Give this approach a try!

Work on your “wings” with #LatPulldowns one of my personal staple exercises to increase strength and size to my back!

There are many variations of this exercise, but I prefer wide-grip (hands placed outside of shoulder width) lat pulldowns. Remember to bring the bar down to your upper chest, drawing shoulders and arms down and back. In order to keep the emphasis on the back muscle during the contracted position be sure your forearms are doing nothing more than holding bar - do not try to pull the bar down using the forearms.

Tip: Think if your hands as hooks, and imagine pulling the bar down with your elbows.

I love doing pull ups more than any other exercise, especially when I add weight to my body. Here you’ll see some failed attempts at the muscle up. The last time I got these I was able to rep out 8-10 in a row, now I’ll only get 3, maaaaaybe 4. You can’t let “setbacks” discourage you, and must always keep things in perspective. Like me, I also have to take into consideration I’m 20lbs heavier than last time and haven’t worked on them in 4 months to begin with lol. Take every “setback” as another opportunity to get better at something and you’ll be fine. 💪🏽

#Focus or your technique and the rest will follow! Mirrors are in the gym for a reason. I know they can be a useful tool for people watching (lol), but try to use them to check your form. Take mental notes to tweak your movements and positioning when necessary. 💪🏽

Lying Leg Curl

Muscle Group: Glutes/Hamstrings
.

Tips:
1. Use a leg curl machine that is angled as opposed to flat since an angled position allows for more hamstring recruitment.
2. Keep the torso flat on the bench.
3. No need to use a lot of weight here so that you can avoid any lower back injury.

Everyday in the gym is another day I take a chisel to this slab of concrete I call a body. The process is challenging and fun, action and adventure, there isn’t a boring day in the gym for me Jack! Love what you do! (Had to tap into my inner @diddy for a sec) 😂💪🏽🏋🏽‍♂️
