Lean Away DB Lateral Raise
One of my favourite exercises for shoulders!
It is a great isolation exercise that strengthens the entire shoulder.
One thing I particularly like about this exercise is that the "lean away" takes out a lot of the trap so it concentrates more on my medial delt. 🏽 How to perform :
Holding on a rack or cable machine, have your feet close to the rack and your upper body leaning out.
The hand on the outside will be performing the movement with either a Db (another variation can be done with a cable)
Start with the DB under your shoulder and initiate the movement from the shoulder itself.
I always think about my arm being a clock.
My shoulder joint in the area that moves the arm.
So think about the muscles in your shoulder activation to pull your arm up till your reach eye height, pause, then slowly bring the dumbbell back down to a complete stop in the start position.
It is important to make sure you use muscle not momentum in this exercise.
I performed 15 reps of this.
