When you’re all “yeah it’s #benchpress day!” and you look at your program and think “...that’s not too bad” and then you realize it’s all PAUSED bench press 😳

But made it through in one piece and I’m hoping I can still lift my arms tomorrow!! Good thing I went above the + on accessory work 😉

ME bench: comp grip bench VS 80lbs band tension.
🎥 1) 445 x 1 (did two dumpster fire singles at this weight) -
Ok, hold up, we gotta stop the show here. So my bench is awful and I’m tired of it. (maybe not my number but it SHOULD be better) so after months of trying to work with my usual setup we’re throwing it out after those singles. I can’t bench narrow and be a slow bencher. I moved my hands from about a thumb from the smooth to ring fingers on the rings as well as changed where i took my handoff. I took another stab at it in the last 3 vids at 315+ the bands, so 395 for some volume.

Power is decent, descent is much improved and i can actually work on some technical aspects and queuing that ya just can’t with my previous grip. So im gonna run this setup for all its worth and see if can’t put a respectable and much improved bench at the @kernusopen in May. Time unfuck my bench and start creeping towards 450-500 by years end.

PSA: Don't go out for Chinese and then do some heavy deadlift sets right afterwards. 
225# 6x2 tonight. Didn't actually feel too heavy but ya know what that Chinese was doin to me.😂 So far the program I'm on is feeling alright, not sure if I'm going to see a lot of growth in my PRs this time around but I'd be happy with any PR, big or small.

Late night squats along wit some RARE shoulder footage lol... Hit routine singles at 345lbs & that shit was moving SMOOTH AF soooo I shot for a PR of 355lbs, it was a grind but we GOT THAT SHIT UP!!! 80lb DB shoulder press for 8 reps got me pump'd asf too😤 .

I’m legitimately pissed off with this program. Like what the heck? 3x10 (300lbs) deficits, followed by 3x10 (260lbs) squats, followed by 3x10 bench, followed by 3x10 stiff legged? What the hell is this? The only thing that this game part of the program is doing is fatiguing the shit out of me. I don’t see any benefit of doing 120 reps in ONE workout.

It’s always to look back to see how far you’ve come.  Back in August 2016, was my first attempt at the platform.  I decided to test myself in a different way outside of Bodybuilding.  I ended my building phase with this meet.  Competed in the 198 lb class (weighed in at 191 ish). Squats-329 lbs
Bench-281 lbs
Deadlifts-451 lbs

More importantly, I had a blast during this meet!  Met some amazing people and loved the preparations going into a meet. 
Fast forward through a 36 week contest prep and 7.5 lbs of building, and we are here.  I’m weighing 169.8 lbs and aiming for the 165.2 lbs class in 4.5 weeks.  Looking at my openers, I’ll be 10 or so lbs less than my total from my first meet.  It’s crazy to think I’ll be progressing exponentially this go around.  The key has always been, staying consistent, being absolutely patient and loving every minute of what you do every step of the way.

From today's  workout, I  was finally able to get in the gym after having some kind of flu for the past couple of weeks. First time being back in the gym  I  felt okay. Currently  I'm  on this strength block and hopefully I  can get some strength back. Today I  did 5 sets of 5 with 235. I was supposed to lift 255 but my shoulder was not feeling it, so I went a little lighter. Afterwards I  finished up with doing some close grip bench with 225 for 3 sets of 7. I also did assistant work with incline dumbbell presses along with incline rows, finished  It off with some triceps.
