Ok friends, let's talk facts for a moment. When it comes to matcha we must educate ourselves and separate the good from the bad. One way to do this is color: look for a really vibrant green. The greener the better!
Matcha is shade-grown: the tea leaves are forced to overproduce chlorophyll, which gives matcha its nice bright green color.
Lower quality matcha tends to be made up of leaves that have not been properly shaded, or that may be older and therefore yellowish or brownish in color.
I personally went out and purchased another brand to test this theory and color does NOT lie! There was NO comparison when it came to taste. The clear winner: Steeped Tea Inc! - 5 hours ago
