There’s more to life than calories and the weight on the scales. I use to never want to show myself in public/socialise until I was at my goal weight. Then I realised how short life is and that measurements are not worth living by, especially by society. We are all different, yet society instills in us the notion that we are meant to look a certain way. Remember, there’s much beauty to be found in being you, being true to yourself and being compassionate, courageous and confident. “A rose can never be a sunflower, and a sunflower can never be a rose. All flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that’s like women too. I want to encourage women to embrace their own uniqueness.” - Miranda Kerr
You are not your weight. You are not the number on the scales. You are not the amount of calories you consume. You are not your looks, the amount of money you make, or the things you own etc...these things could be taken away/changed just like that. Hide these thoughts, not you. Think of these being stripped away from you. That’s who you are and that’s what people will mostly remember you by. These only make a striking first impression, but the way we treat others leaves a lasting impression.
Remember, you deserve the love you give those you care about and you deserve food EVERYDAY. Forget about “cheat meals.” Be compassionate to yourself and allow yourself to listen to your body and follow through with your cravings. Dieting - thinking about cheat meals, the number of calories and scales - these things will preoccupy your whole mind. The more you DIEt, the more you’ll feel like DIEing and *actually* listening to your body. In itself, it’s a full-time job. Yet the people who love us, love us not for these reasons. It’s time we do the same for ourselves. Once we make peace with our reflection in the mirror, only then will it change and we can step away from it and see who we really are...Starve your negative thoughts, not your body.
