Hey, guys. Some days, I find myself scrolling thru social media, constantly criticizing myself for not being as smart, creative, talented, successful, authentic, pretty, family-oriented, healthy, wealthy, consistent, strong, well-read, etc. as so many other people. I play this game of self-doubt over and over, and I always lose. It’s completely debilitating and humiliating.
Because of this, I’m writing this note to my future self. Maybe to the “me” that exists 5 years from now...or even 5 minutes from now. Either way, it’s a message that we all need to hear, but especially me.
Amanda, give yourself grace for this moment. God already has. He wouldn’t have called you to this path of life without giving you what you need to accomplish His will. It’s your job to seek Him and trust Him to take care of the future. As for the nitty gritty, do what you know you need to do for today. And stop comparing yourself to everyone else. You’re doing just fine. Celebrate the small victories. Like finished blog posts and tacos. Mostly tacos. They deserve celebration—and so do you. - 5 minutes ago
