Myofascia or fascia surrounds, connects, and supports your muscles, organs, bones, tendons, ligaments and other structures of the body. The most interesting aspect of your fascia is that it is actually one continuous structure that exists from head to toe without interruption. You can begin to see that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia. Restrictions in your fascia can affect your flexibility and stability, and impact your ability to withstand stress and perform daily tasks. By using pinpointed release techniques in your practice, you can help jumpstart the fascial repair and remodeling process to free up the tissues and increase their range of motion both during and after your practice.
This workshop exploring your body’s’ myofascial system will include the following:
1. a brief introduction to what fascia is and how it functions in your body
2. a brief asana practice to warm up your body
3. myofascial release techniques
