Portrait of Danish pianist Adi Zukanović. As a boy in a war-fought Bosnia, he learned to interpret reality through his parents' feelings. The ability to read moods and humans has made 29-year-old Adi Zukanovic one of the most sought after musicians in the Danish music scene right now. Shot for Danish daily @Politiken, words by Sofie Sørensen. #photojournalism #portrait #photooftheday #onassignment #politiken

Kaspar Rostrup, a legendary danish film and theater director, photographed in his home in Frederiksberg. Such a pleasure hanging out with Kaspar who, even at the age of 77, is still full of energy and commitment to his profession - I admire that a lot. On the cover of today's KULTUR section of the Danish daily Politiken. #politiken #portrait #photojournalism #photooftheday #onassignment

"It's the international society who hasn't risen up to their obligations. Big time. My job only exists because human life has lost its value to the international society. I sell dreams to desperate people and I'm good at it. What the hell does Europe offer?" In a small hotel room in the sketchy part of Tarlabasi in Istanbul, an area know for housing drug dealers and criminals, I and journalist Waleed Safi met with Abu Hamza a Syrian human trafficker. We talked with him about the change in conditions for him and the people who want to be smuggled to Europe after the agreement between Turkey and the EU. This is one of the portraits I did of him. Shot for the Danish daily Information. #istanbul #photojournalism #photooftheday #portrait #onassignment #refugees @waleedxafii

Yesterday my portrait of Robert was awarded with the prize of best portrait at the Danish Picture of the Year. The picture is from my story about the boys living on the west coast of Jutland in Denmark - a big thank you goes out to Robert and all the other guys that let me in to their lives. It's currently exhibited at the Royal Library of Denmark along with a lot of great work by my Danish colleagues. Congratulations to everybody who was nominated and awarded. Peace. // #photojournalism #portrait #boysofthewestcoast

In the early morning hours between 4 and 5 on the 25th of August 2014 Mugabe Kisembo and his wife got their second son, a few hours later his village was attacked by paid thugs, raping, tear gassing and burning down their houses. Mugabe was forced to flee with his newborn son and hasn't returned to the land since. The land was seated next to a piece of land containing oil, so the landlord violently cleared the land, making it possible for foreign investors to settle on the land. No investor has done so yet. Mugabe and the rest of the evicted village, who now lives in a makeshift camp nearby, is still struggling to get back to their land.

An Ethiopian wedding singer doing his thing. At Ethiopian weddings the singing is a very important aspect, and part of the tradition is sticking cash bills on the forehead of each other. If you think the singer or a dancer in the crowd is doing a good job, you can honor their hard work by making a cash bill stick to their sweaty forehead. I'm rather fond of that tradition and this country to say the least, but tomorrow I will head on to Uganda and meet up with @aagaardthomas. whoop #wedding #Ethiopia #photojournalism #dmjxphoto #photooftheday
