It’s impossible to control everything that will happen in your life.. but what you can do is control your own actions and choose what kind of person you will be. If something bad happens, trust and have faith that life has a plan for you and as time goes on that plan will eventually unravel to reveal something spectacular for you. Be patient, be better, and just take the time to appreciate the little things in life.

This woman is literally a superhero. She’s beautiful, unbelievably caring (she’s taken care of me more times than I can count - and I’m a baby when I’m sick), she’s smart as hell (x-ray/CT tech/radiation safety officer and she destroys me at scrabble every time ...), she’s insanely funny (craziest humour and snapchats I’ve ever seen), and best of all she’s loves food - poutine for breakfast, lunch and dinner 😂. There are so many things I love about her - she’ll put on her jam and start dancing like no one cares (super sexy and cute - two words that don’t usually mix but she makes it work). She talks in her sleep a lot but it’s adorable. My favourite is her smile. She has the most stunning smile 😁

I know all these things and yet, for the better half of this year I forgot to show it. I’m not perfect by any means. If anything I’m romantically illiterate - probably not the best but all we can do is learn moving forward. Either way it’s no excuse.

Can't feel that "mind-muscle connection?" Then take your ego out of the lift. Slow it down, feel the rhythm, and squeeze. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You should be able to feel a stretch during the eccentric phase and a squeeze during the concentric phase of every rep. If not, you probably need to adjust the way you are performing the exercise. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don't need to do a dozen different exercises for one body part. You could do four and still experience the same growth and development. For example do 4 sets of 10 reps for bench press and focus on performing a 5-8s negative on the way down vs. Your typical 4 sets of 10 bounce and press and tell me which one you feel more. It's always been quality vs. quantity.

The reason why we never reach our goals is due to the simple fact that the sh*t we say we are gonna do don't align with the priorities we set for ourselves. Our excuses, or what we'd much rather do come first because our internal cues tell us that this is what matters more. •

I remember when I used to work a 10-12h shift for landscaping and when I was finished I would drive straight to the gym. That was my priority. Recently over the last year, I've fallen into a slump where "I'm too tired," "I already ate bad today," or "I just don't feel like it" has priority. No one is to blame myself - it wasn't the workout, the diet, or the plan that wasn't working. It was me. I am responsible for the results I didn't achieve because my priorities were not set. Again there is no secret - just hard work and commitment. It's time to start grinding again 💪🏻#NeededToGiveMyselfAPepTalk
