One of my focuses for 2018 is recommitting to my morning routine. And that includes dry skin brushing.
.
Dry skin brushing is great for supporting the lymphatic system, which is our body’s waste removal system. It is incredibly important that we stimulate it daily.
.
Dry skin brushing is also energizing, makes your skin feel silky smooth, and can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
.
Best if done in the morning right before you shower with a brush made of natural bristles. Start at the feet and work in a circular motion up towards the heart. Always massage towards the heart and make sure to get those hard to reach places!

β€œLatte” recipe below ⬇️ Is giving up coffee one of your New Years resolutions? How about showing your liver and hormones more love? If so, dandelion root tea is a fantastic and super tasty way to do it. It even tastes a bit like coffee!
.
You can easily find roasted dandelion root tea at your health food store or on Amazon. Dandy Blend (I have no affiliation with them, I just enjoy their product) is really great as well.
.
I made this buttered β€œlatte” out of:
1 Tablespoon Dandy Blend
1 Tablespoon ghee
1 Tablespoon collagen powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 cup of hot water
A drizzle of honey
Combine all ingredients in blender and enjoy!

Happy New Year! I realize I’m a bit late (that’s part of my charm πŸ˜‰), but I wanted to wish everyone a fabulous start to 2018. What are your goals, resolutions, focus for the upcoming year?

Not just for stringing on Christmas trees!
.
Cranberries have one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants of any fruit!
.
These little guys are powerhouses for busting inflammation, reducing joint pain, and improving allergy symptoms.
.
Cranberries are also good for the prevention of urinary tract infections.
.
Improving immune function, especially as we approach cold and flu season, is crucial, and cranberries can do just that. .
Cranberries also have digestive health benefits, helping to balance bacteria in the body.
.
So tomorrow make sure to take an extra serving of cranberries-just make sure they are fresh, not the jellied stuff in a can. And have a happy Thanksgiving!

Practice gratitude daily! Don't just wait for Thanksgiving to think about what you're grateful for. This is one daily ritual that has changed my life. .
What are you thankful for today?

Crockpot Coconut Lemongrass Soup!
.
My picture didn't turn out well, but my soup sure did! As soon as autumn hit I've been craving soup, and this one was super tasty and simple!
.
1 package of boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 can of full fat coconut milk
1 cup water
2 lemongrass stalks chopped into about 1 inch pieces
2 inch piece of ginger chopped
1 small red onion chopped roughly
3 cloves of garlic chopped
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tsp of fish sauce (more to taste)
Whatever veggies you want-I used cremini mushrooms, broccoli, zucchini, squash-bell peppers would be fab too!
.
Add all ingredients except veggies to crockpot and cook on low for 5.5 hours. Add veggies in for last 30 minutes. Add more fish sauce or salt to taste and enjoy!
.
**Note-remove pieces of lemongrass before you serve.

I am so jazzed about my new bamboo toothbrush (and yes that is a Gilmore Girls mug πŸ€—)! @wowelifestyle makes a must have product!
.
Plastic is a huge problem for your health and it's everywhere. I bet you never considered that your toothbrush is made of plastic-me neither! And it's in your mouth everyday!
.
Not only is plastic bad for your health, but it's bad for the environment as well. Almost 50 million pounds of plastic toothbrushes end up in landfills each year! That's a lot of plastic just sitting around for 1000 years!
.
I am all for bamboo. It is biodegradable, sustainable, and one less plastic thing to have to use. Not to mention they look so snazzy 😍

🍁 Happy first day of fall 🍁
.
Letting go is so important for your health and wellbeing. Most of us carry around thoughts, feelings, and attachments that are not serving us in a positive way.
.
By really being present to our feelings (yes it can hurt!) and getting clear on what it is we want to let go of, we can start to release these stored up emotions and thoughts.
.
Journaling daily and EFT (tapping) are two of my favorite ways to practice this. And now is the perfect time to start ❀️

Stop beating yourself up for eating that doughnut or piece of cake or frosting straight from the spoon (maybe that is just me πŸ’πŸ») or that one thing you "shouldn't have". Healthy eating should be a lifestyle, not a diet. So there is no falling off the wagon or waiting until Monday to start again. Start again now, but let go of the guilt and be kind to yourself ❀️

New favorite product alert ‼️
I have recently stumbled upon sweet potato noodles and am in love! As someone who eats gluten free and almost no grains, I miss noodles and these are an amazing addition!
.
They are glass noodles so they are thin and take on the flavor of whatever you cook them in. I usually stir fry them with veggies in fish sauce and coconut aminos, with fresh garlic and ginger. Today I added wild caught shrimp and it's πŸ’£!
.
You can probably find them at any Asian market (I have seen them at every one I have been to) and online. If you try 'em let me know what you think πŸ˜€

One of the benefits of working for yourself is getting to do things on your own time, such as grocery shop on Monday morning so you don't have to deal with the crowds! Now on to meal prep for the week. Happy Monday everyone πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Radishes were always a veggie I overlooked until I realized all the health benefits they have.
.
Radishes are rich in compounds called glucosinolates and indoles which support detoxification.
.
According to Chinese Medicine radishes are fantastic for conditions related to dampness such as fibroids, PCOS, and endometriosis.
.
Radishes also contain antioxidant compounds which have been proven to inhibit certain types of cancer.
.
I enjoy stir frying or roasting them as well as adding them to salads for a nice crunch!
