Today’s chest workout explained in the first video and the second video is of my finishing exercise for the day. Glad to be back home for awhile. Although I’ve managed to keep lean through out my travels managing my food intake I lost a bit in strength/stamina being in different time zones, jet lag, and with the most random schedule it was tough to maintain a constant high output in the gym. Now that I’m stationary for awhile I can focus on gaining back my strength and endurance as I’ll be on a set eating, training and sleeping schedule. #focused @shredz @vqfit www.ajfit.online

Back in KC. No more jet lag, sleep is regulated and I feel like I have energy again. Time to put in work while I’m home. #grindtime @shredz www.ajfit.online

I decided to go all in on my last set for my cameraman to only record 12 reps of my set of 20 😒🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️. So I manned up and did a 9th set for 25 reps. This is a big victory for me today as my right knee as been giving me issues since Feb and I’ve backed off training legs with subpar training sessions which tends to do my head in when I can’t train my legs with the frequency and intensity that I want. People will question the depth of the squat but during my stint as a collegiate and pro track & field athlete we never executed ass to grass or below parallel squats. This is why I aim for moderately heavy weights with more volume. Give it a try and let me know how u get on with it. Some basics facts in regards to squatting: 1. Some people just aren't built to squat deeply without major pain.
2. A stronger or deeper squat doesn't necessarily translate to increased performance.
Bodybuilding types should use less weight and work on tempo to get maximum benefits, while multidirectional athletes may have to work on more single-leg variations. Now if ur one of the blessed ones the argument is this: If u can comfortably rest ur hamstrings on your calves, the odds of u having restrictions to the mobility of ur hips, knees, and ankles is low, meaning u can then safely do pretty much anything with little or no chance of injury. www.ajfit.online

Being comfortable with yourself means not comparing yourself to others, and feeling OK with whatever choices u make in life. It can mean accepting how you look, being cool with how much u weigh, having good self-esteem, liking where ur at in life... But at the core of it all is the sense that u are fine just as u are. When ur truly comfortable with yourself, u don't feel the need for comparisons, and u don't feel the need to do things simply to impress others. Getting to this point can take a lot of work. Especially with being constantly smacked in the face with images from social media of "the perfect life," that can make u feel like ur own isn't up to par. We’ve all felt like this at some point logging on to social media. U can be having the best day, but inevitably someone's day looks a little bit better and we feel slightly inadequate. We all do it, but especially those of us who are still learning how to be self-confident. The best cure for this is getting past the comparisons, but also by doing things to really get to know yourself. Once you figure out who "YOU" really are, u will be less likely to feel shaken up by what other people are doing. DO YOU. @shredz www.ajfit.online

After my online client check ins this morning the rest of the day was reserved for a bit of R&R and fun. It was brunch at the Montage Rooftop Grill to start the day with some healthy eats then off to Universal Studios where we spent 6 hours walking every inch of that theme park and riding all but the 2 water rides yet the climax of the evening after standing in a 25 min line was getting my hands on these two massive donuts from The Simpson’s infamous Lard Lad Donut shop. 🤤🐷 Tomorrow we’re back on plan! www.ajfit.online

I had to sneak in a chest workout at The Mecca this afternoon with my dude @bigsean.f. There’s just something about this place that keeps drawing u back. U get to see some of the most eccentric people from all walks of life here (and it’s history) and that’s what makes this place so impressive. www.ajfit.online

Just as many fitness enthusiasts & bodybuilders do, I came here to get my dose of bodybuilding nostalgia from where it all started.... At The Mecca, Golds Gym Venice Beach 1965. Clocked in a very solid week of training/cardio/diet. Today we’ll let loose a bit as I’ll allow my client to eat something well off plan between his morning and evening shows so of course I’ll be joining him. Let’s work for that burger and fries! www.ajfit.online

Getting back to my form after this last trip. I didn’t care much for missing 6 days of training or eating well off my diet for those days as well but I did gain some clarity while in China which proved more valuable. 🙏🏾 www.ajfit.online

When u make that decision to make positive changes in your life and start working to actually make them happen, it can seem a bit overwhelming at first. Especially when people in ur life don’t understand. And what’s worse, rather than being excited and supportive, or at least just accepting that ur evolving as a person, they disapprove and tell u that “you’ve changed!” And u end up on the receiving end of unwarranted hostility from family members and friends who pressure u to change back. F*CK THAT! People just have a hard time with change and u force their hand to interact with u differently. U use to be predictable and now all the sudden ur not... Peoples’ reactions really have nothing to do with u, what ur achieving or what ur becoming. Their reactions have everything to do with their own desperate attempts to cling to the familiar. Keep doing YOU! www.ajfit.online

I don’t trust much in life but one thing I can count on is my ability to consistently work hard. With that comes progress, results, and achieved goals. Don’t just say u want it. Put some action behind those words. @shredz www.ajfit.online

After seeing the @wbff_official LA ProAm show I can’t help but to get slightly excited so far out from the World Championships in August. We’re hearing back to Vegas as some of the top physiques from across the globe will be lining up on stage to be crowned world champion... I have my own agenda which I plan to execute with precision 🇯🇵🇺🇸 @paul_dillett @allisondillett #wbff #worlds #vegas
