Back at school I was the weakest boy in class. I ran slowest, barely did a single pull-up, nobody wanted me in their football team, and so on and so forth. My stronger classmates jeered at me, the PE teacher scornfully rolled his eyes or smirked at my futile attempts. I felt weak, ugly (I wore glasses then ) and not accepted. How many of you know this feeling of shame and hopelessness? Yet, I had my dreams and visions. Deep inside I knew I belonged somewhere special. People tend to say: I don’t give a damn about others’ opinion! But it’s not true! We DO give a damn about others’ opinion! Each of us wants to be ACCEPTED - be it by your peers, lover, boss, teacher, nation, - you name it. This strong need to be accepted makes us GO! This is our driving force. That’s why we do our best to impress others. Impressing people puts us on a certain pedestal where we are no longer ugly or weak or poor or unloved, etc. This is just normal - just human: to strive to achieve your best.
The conclusion of the matter is that perhaps instead of pushing the weak down we’d better reach out a helping hand to them by encouraging them instead of disparaging them, by helping them believe in their worth... I know it’s hard for us to do so, but we can always try... #gucci #guccisneakers #guccibee #diesel #handstand #motivation #me #polishman - 1 month ago
