I haven’t done a humpday post in a long while so in honour of the day of the booty, although I am determined to get back to where I felt my most comfortable I am embracing my curves now and judging by the responses I got from so many of you this morning, I know y’all do too. So thank you for being so awesome and sending me your beautiful messages, I’ll get to them all eventually 😂
.
I embrace where I’m at now but I also know that there’s nothing wrong with wanting to do better, to be better and to challenge yourself to achieve those goals
.

Things don’t always go to plan. Here’s how life works. Things are going great, the universe is responding and your motivation is sky high and then all of a sudden, one by one things start to fail. What was running so smoothly now feels like it’s all so wrong, what you thought was the right way, ended up being yet another lesson. But this is the beauty of life. It’s one big fat lesson. I’ve realised lately that I started to introduce bad behaviours back into my life and as a consequence the only thing that suffered was my ability to move forward. I’m getting better at learning not to hang onto what wasn’t meant for me, what doesn’t serve me well and what doesn’t go to plan. I’m learning to adapt to situations better and to accept what is presented in front of me and to work with those to move forward. I’ve said it a thousand times before, dwelling serves no purpose. It just doesn’t.
.
I’ve neglected a few things and I think this is why I feel at a stand still so moving forward here’s what I’m bringing back (other than sexy 💁🏻‍♀️)
- mediation, morning and night
- daily affirmations
- daily gratitude
- daily motivational podcasts
.
Remember, to change takes continuous effort and that’s where most people fail because the intent is there but the effort isn’t. You want it. Do it. You don’t want to do it? That’s when you need to do it the most!

I’m starting to get the feels for a little more structure back in my life and some more conditioning. Although I’m happy with who I am and how I look, I’m constantly battling days where I am bloated and not feeling comfortable. The comfort isn’t a dissatisfaction with how I look but more knowing that my body isn’t obviously working at its best and this is why it’s changing so much throughout the week.
.
I’ve never really felt this level of change in my body before so it’s going to take some trail and error to figure out what’s causing it but I’m determined to get back into feeling comfortable and the first step is realising that what may have worked two years ago, a year ago or even 6 months ago, may not necessarily mean that it will work now. Especially getting older, things slow down, hormones start to change and so maybe my body is trying to me something
.
I’m not one to go and get regular checks at the doctor but I think it’s definitely something I’ll start doing so, we’ll see where this takes me...

Full day of eating is up!
.
I have to admit, I have been feeling a little off. My energy levels are running low and I’m constantly tired, indicating that I’m clearly not eating enough and getting the nutrients my body needs to function at it’s best.
.
So I’ve made a conscious effort to make my meals more meals and less snacks! Give me the green light and I’ll be happy to snack all day which isn’t doing my body any favours
.
This is a typical day as I would have it if I were tracking (in my stories). I’ve weighed my protein but eyballed the rest. I still have dessert to go but I’ve added it to my highlights so it’s there to refer back to
.
When intuitive eating, we really have to let go of the notion to just ‘listen to our bodies’. Sometimes I don’t have an appetite but it doesn’t mean my body doesn’t want the fuel it needs to get me through. It’s just resisting it for some other reason (hormones, stress, fatigue). We need to be mindful of eating to satisfy but also to nourish and fuel and sometimes when our bodies are trying to tell us something, it’s not always what’s going to benefit us in the long term

Eating intuitively; the new rival to macro counting. Now eating intuitively is great and this should be an end goal (I’m currently trying it) but why is there now a need to tarnish one method of balance to promote another? In this case it's the people vs macro counting!
.
If you've progressed onto the world of eyeballing and thrown away your scales, that's great I salute you! (I’m stuck trialling so I wouldn’t say I’m there yet) But don't dismiss what counting your macros has done and where it took you. After all, you owe where you are now to the fact that you did start tracking your intake, you were able to let go of bad behaviours and you finally did take control of your life
.
Would you rubbish your parents for the time they spent grooming you to tackle the big bad world once you got out there and faced it on your own? Let's face it, you most probably owe your life to counting macros! Tracking your intake doesn't make you obsessed and its no way an indication that you're controlled by numbers. It makes you damn strong for adhering to something that most people would look at at say, fuck that, I don't have enough self control to limit myself to certain numbers
.
Where does your intuition come from anyway? Weighing allowed you to understand the nutritional value of the foods that you were eating. From the sugar content to the fibre and just how much fat was in a handful of nuts or a table spoon of peanut butter. You now have the ability to portion control and you can eat for wellbeing as well as indulge for sanity, without guilt and without fear. You wouldn't have come to this point without the knowledge you gained from macro counting
.
So while I understand that intuitively eating may seem like you're finally free, rather than bite the hand that fed you, embrace where you are now and what it took to get you there

You know you want it 😉
.
Chocolate protein scones
.
Ingredients
- 200g spelt flour
- 60g chocolate pea @happywayau protein
- 50g lite nuttlex
- 150g coconut milk
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
.
Method
- in a bowl sift the flour, the pea protein and add the baking powder and salt
- chop the butter in and with your fingers mix it until the mixture is crumbly
- make a well in the centre and add the coconut milk. Mix this with a knife until the mixture resembles dough
- roll the dough out on a board, about 2cm thick. Cut into rounds and place on a tray with baking paper. Brush with milk or butter (optional)
- bake in a pre heated oven on 220 deg for about 10 mins or until cooked
.
NOTES:
- do not over handle the dough
- I used full fat coconut milk for this one. You can also use light milk or regular milk
- best eaten straight out of the oven 😍 but is just as amazing when cooled (I still heat them up in the microwave because scones are best eaten warm)
- if you don’t want to add protein just substitute with more flour (the protein is what made them chocolate 🤤)
- store in an air tight container
- My serving suggestion: light whipped cream with reduced sugar jam or just butter BUT you can top with what you like
- ENJOY

Intuitive eating...what is it exactly?
.
I think there’s a massive misconception that when you venture on into the world of intuitive eating that all of a sudden, macros are shit, they are restrictive and you down right need a break from them. NO! This is definitely not the case! Not for me anyway.
.
In fact intuitive eating for me is macro counting but without the use of MFP. Having counted macros for so long and tracking my intake, I’ve learned so much about nutrition that it’s allowed me to give this a go and I owe it all to flexible dieting
.
So far it’s been great (so far). I am still tracking protein and protein ONLY just to make sure I’m getting enough but other than that, I have no idea how many carbs or fats I’m having (I’ll make a post about how I have gone about ensuring that I’m getting enough of them soon)
.
I’m also not in the mindset of ‘I’m just listening to my body’ because let’s be real, if I was to listen to that b!tch, she’d lead me straight to the cookies, ice cream and Nutella and what even is a micro
.
What I am doing is understating that my body has needs to function properly and that’s what I’m giving it. I also understand that my hormones take over sometimes and I give in to them too (that b!tch is worse than the other one!). I don’t do this mindlessly though, I know roughly where my limits are and I make sure that I stick to those
.
As I said when I first started this, it’s all trial and error and so far so good (SO FAR!!! 😂). Time will tell I guess but for now, it’s definitely serving me well ❤️
.
P.S I promise I’ll post the recipe for scones tomorrow. You don’t want to miss that one
.
I’ve also had requests for a full day of eating so I’ll do that next week (it’s a little hard to do when I’m at work), so look out for that too in my stories
.
K I’m done talking now 💃🏻

You want to tone up but you don’t want to lift weights
.
You want to spend time in the gym trying to change your physique but you don’t want to track your training volume or calorie intake
.
You want to be able to have your cake and eat it too but you think that flexible dieting is stupid
.
You want to get results but when it comes to doing the work, you complain that it’s too hard
.
You think that sugar is the devil and carbs will turn you into miss piggy but you binge on both of those on the weekends...and you still think flexible dieting is stupid
.
You want to make a change but you don’t want to actively put effort in to make that change
.
You go round and round in circles doing the same thing yet expect a different outcome
.
If something isn’t working, change it. If you don’t understand it, educate yourself. If you want to make a change, make the effort to take those steps towards that change. If you want results, do! If you don’t want to do it, it’s all the more reason to do it. If you find yourself whinging, complaining and criticising others because they have what you desire, there’s half your problem....but hey...that’s none of my business 🐸 ☕️

I know the long weekend isn’t over but so far I’ve spent half of it with my bestie and the other half alone.
.
I’m honestly in a place that I’m so at peace with. I think it’s so important to surround yourself with those that add value to your life but you also need to be able to exist alone. It took my darkest days to realise that I not only had to learn to love myself again and rebuild the person that I was but with more confidence and self worth but that also came with learning that I was able to exist without anyone
.
I used to feel sadness when I was alone. I now feel full. Content. Happy. I love being surrounded by the amazing people I have in my life but I also embrace me time. I don’t feel the need to always be around people to make my days matter. In saying that, with me not getting any younger, who knows, maybe I’m also finally ready to be alone with someone else too 😂🤷🏻‍♀️
.
I hope you all had a beautiful Easter

Did you watch yesterday’s story?
.
It’s still up so you’ve still got time 💁🏻‍♀️ amongst all the food porn, snack shopping and trolling, I spoke about how I can go from shredded to bulk mode and back again in 0.5secs
.
This is foreign to me because I’ve never had this issue but I’ve since realised that it’s common amongst so many of you that I am determined to find a solution for us all
.
I don’t want to confuse what I spoke about though with body dissatisfaction because although it’s not pleasant looking and feeling 5kg heavier (the blowfish look though, not the lean muscle one), I’m in no way affected by it where it alters my moods or creates a need for me to change anything drastically in my food or training. In regards to food, I will change my diet slightly and keep it more on the simple side but I will NOT be reducing the amount of food I eat or increasing the amount I exercise. It’s just unnecessary.
.
You all know how much I talk about self love and although it’s definitely uncomfortable having to deal with this, I still embrace the way I look and love my curves through the bloats and the shredz
.
So thank you to all of you who replied to me telling me you’ve experienced the same and also those who suggested things to try. I’m on a mission to get us all travel happy and to be our regular selves 99.9% of the time (because nothing is 100%, 100% of the time 😋)
.
In the meantime, here’s a #thickanddelicious moment..

So far I am loving intuitive eating. I’m embracing just listening to what my body wants and when it wants it
.
I was never a big eater, I was more of a grazer and I’ve found that most days when I’m busy, I’ve gone back to snacking constantly rather than having large meals. I don’t have structure. I just eat when I want and how I want but I am conscious of giving my body the essentials it needs to get me through the day
.
As someone who’s tracked calories for a while, I never thought intuitive eating would be so hard. It’s one thing to just eat what you want but it’s another to eat what you want while ensuring your body is sufficiently fuelled and it’s getting the essentials it needs to perform
.
So far I haven’t lost my gains and my energy levels are as they always have been so we’re doing ok fam.....to be continued....
