Today I had an interresting conversation with one of my students.
It was about discrimination and judgement of people.
Growing up my mama tought me that we are all the same and I still believe this to be true. People judging other people by the color of their skin or being different then them can make me so angry and sad at the same time. Why would anyone to that.
I'm a halfblood, my dad is Egyptian and my mom is from The Netherlands. I look mostly dutch though so I don't really know what it feels like to be discriminated. I do however know that it starts with you.
You know those people who always say " us morrocan people" "us black people" , etc? Why? Why would you want to lable yourself? I seriously don't care what colour you are of where you are from! To me you are a HUMAN being, a PERSON! Someone who feels pain, happiness, and all other emotions, a person who bleads red just like everyone else in the world, you're no different than me!
To me everyone is beautiful, Black, White, Yellow, even if you were blue I love the difference, YOU should to! How wonderful is it to learn about different cultures, taste different kinds of food. We can learn so much from each other if we would just all stop the hate against each other and spread some love and be happy that we're not all the same, how boring would that be?
I DARE you, this week just go and talk to someone totally different than you and then share your experience, tag me @daaltjeswereld so I can read about it! I believe a world will open for you!
