Exercise used to be a complete chore for me. I didn’t do many sports growing up because i didn’t want to work that hard. Also I’m not very coordinated😅It wasn’t until college, when I was tired of being skinny and have little confidence, that I had to change how I thought about working out. It was thhe chance to become the guy that I was so envious of.

Now working out has grown into something that is so much more rewarding. It’s a way to continue building confidence, better myself beyond my physique and most importantly- inspire others to become the best version of themselves.

A question I hear a lot is: I’m sick, should I workout? The answer: it depends. I think there are 3 things you should ask before you decide:
1️⃣Do you feel like working out would make you feel worse?
2️⃣Do you have a fever or body aches?
3️⃣Are you sleeping well?

If your answer is “No” to any of those, I would say skip your workout, rest and hydrate and reevaluate how you feel tomorrow. When you’re sick, your body’s main priority is getting rid of that virus/bacteria and your recovery will suffer and you won’t get as much benefit from the workout.

This quote was something I had to learn the hard way. All of 2016/17 I was in a bad place mentally. I only looked at the negatives, I complained a lot and there was little to no forward motion in my life. I was stuck in a deep rut. I got to the point where I had to take a big step back from everything I was doing and basically did a 180.

It took a few months of reading self help books, meditation, reconnecting with God and clarifying what I wanted from my life to realize that I had put myself in that rut. My mindset was broken and unfortunately it took me making some huge life changes to figure that out.

Don’t make the same mistake I did! See the positive things all around you. Look to the people who make you laugh and feel good. See the progress you’ve made. Let go of the negative people and attitudes that are just dragging you down. Let go of the hurt from the past. Sometimes it’s as simple as unfollowing some people on social who are constantly complaining. Other times it’s as hard as telling a close friend or you parent that you just can’t spend as much time with them if they can’t be more encouraging. Whatever it is for you that is keeping your head in a bad place: GET RID OF IT.
