CARDIO OR WEIGHTS?⠀

It's a common misconception that cardio is for fat loss and weight training is for muscle building. This is the biggest, baddest, dogcrap that I see people promoting all over the world. If you want to lose fat, you need to do both...and to a certain extent, your should definitely prioritize weight training. Why?⠀⠀
➖⠀⠀
Weight training will build you some muscle if you're in a fat loss phase, not the most amount of muscle you can, and not in the most optimal way possible, but if you're just getting into this fitness thing you will build some muscle. At the very least, it will help you maintain muscle mass if you're more advanced.⠀⠀
➖⠀⠀
Moreover, weights will also help you burn more calories in the long run (because of the activity itself but also the metabolism boosting effect it has). Weights SHOULD be your main focus if you’re trying to lose fat, and you should train for STRENGTH, not for the pump. ⠀⠀

Cardio will help you create a bigger caloric deficit and it'll help you with your conditioning. But in my opinion it should NOT be your main focus if you’re trying to lose fat because too much of it will increase the stress hormone, Cortisol, and work against your fat loss. If your main goal is fat loss, cardio should be treated as a BONUS to burn extra calories, only when you NEED to introduce it. ⠀⠀

None of them alone will be your end all be all short term fix. Keep in mind that together they work best. ⠀⠀

💥3 Steps to Making your Own Protein Bars💥⠀

🍫You guys know I love a protein bar as quick and convenient, protein filled snack and it's one of many snacks I advise my online coaching clients to have. However, many of the commercial bars are full of crap ingredients and not exactly cheap. What's the solution? Make your own 😍⠀

😋These ingredients make the best combo in my opinion, but I have swapped the flax meal for almond meal before, which worked. In terms of other proteins, I've never tried not using whey so I don't know how others will hold up ⠀
⠀
🍩Best thing is you can make these ahead of time and freeze them so you got 4 quick snacks to grab during the week. Be careful with the water though as its better to have too little and add more, then have too much and the mixture becomes too runny. You've been warned 👌⠀

Saturday morning grind 🏋️‍♀️ this week has been hard. On point with meal....easy! But I've been so drained and so tired. I took Wednesday and Friday off where as before I wouldn't LISTEN to my body I would just push and go but after what has happened these past 6 months I know now to pay EXTRA attention to what my body is telling me vs my mind just pushing to keep going. So LISTEN to your body before you learn the hard way like I did! I am now being guided by my trainer who happens to be a doctor....so nice I can send my medical history and lab work and be able to read and understand them. We are currently working on starting up my metabolism and getting my body to function correctly. Thanks @drkwaz !!! 😊 #WGGY #thestruggleisreal #keepingitreal #fitlife #drkwaz #L💙VE
