Cheese is a huge part of South West England’s foodie culture, so it’s essential that you pop into a traditional cheesemonger when you visit! 🧀
In the village of Newton St. Cyres, in Exeter, Devon, Quicke’s Farm Shop (@quickescheese ) is well worth a visit Whether you do a behind-the-scenes Cheese Tour, enjoy a family day out at one of their many events, or simply taste some of their award-winning traditional cheeses, they offer something for everyone! After all, the Quicke family have been farming and making cheese with milk from their very own dairy herd for over 450 years, so you’ll be in expert hands!
Alternatively, if you’re visiting the South West city of Bristol, The Bristol Cheesemonger (@bristol_cheese ) in Wapping Wharf is a foodie gem! Run by Rosie Morgan, the small independent shop was named the UK’s ‘Best Speciality Retailer’ at the Great British Cheese Awards in 2017 and offers an incredible range of seasonal cheese made by local, independent dairy farms. A member of the cheesemonger team visits the West Country dairies and farms to select the cheeses every week, so there’s always something new to try! Not one to miss ️
