[3:6] Are you playing to your full potential? Or wasting half of it? To get 100% you need 100% of the team playing. This includes men and women. From the onset, Gothia Cup has hosted tournaments for girls and boys. Because not including one or the other would mean a tremendous waste of human potential and talent.
To strengthen the awareness of sexual harassment in today’s society, Gothia Cup has initiated the “Respect Every Body” campaign, putting respect on and off the pitch in full focus. It’s about having respect for your own body and those of others. Something, just as important on the field as it is in offices, homes and schools. And like in any game situation, communication is key. To eradicate prejudice and work for equal rights and respect for all we need to raise awareness, talk about issues and take action. At SKF, we are actively working to recruit more women into industry. We recently held a networking event for young women at a maintenance fair in Sweden. Victoria van Camp, CTO and President, Innovation and Development at SKF, plays a major role in this initiative and hopes to change the image of the stereotypical male engineer and service technician. With more female role models in industry, this is fully possible. By running side-by-side as a team, we can reach the other end of the field faster – and get closer to our goal.
