The fact that the County has an expert team assembled to implement the work is one of the top reasons why Coconut Grove voters support the County plan to revive and re-open the Coconut Grove Playhouse by an almost 2 to 1 margin. Led by Grove-based architectural firm Arquitectonica, the team includes one of the nation's top historic preservation architects, Jorge Hernandez, among a stellar list of consultants. It also includes Joseph Mobilia, Associate Principal from Fisher Dachs Associates, the top theater planning and design firm.
The team was the highest ranked out of nine that had bid for the project. It was selected following a competitive selection process for architectural, engineering, and specialty consultant services for the master planning, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration of the project.
Here is what the Coconut Grove voters had to say about the team, as quoted in a recent survey:
. - "I choose the County because I trust the people who are on the project."
- "Because Joe Adler is involved, and he is a proven director."
- "Taken into consideration the other renovations the County has done, I trust the County."
The survey was conducted by Bendixen & Amandi International, the go-to polling company in Miami that has earned reputation as one of the most credible, accurate and independent firms in assessing attitudes and trends based on its work with an extensive list of clients, including presidential campaigns in the U.S. .
