Car Lunch. Just to be clear, I normally don’t condone this type of thing since it doesn’t allow the body to get into a parasympathetic state before eating. Which, I might add, happens to be the key to starting the digestive process. However, desperate times call for desperate measures! 😬🤷🏼♀️
Ideally, I’d want to give myself time to sit down, relax, and let the brain do its thing and signal the release of HCL to start the digestive process so my stomach can properly break down my meal. When we rush through eating, fail to chew long enough etc., food moves through partially undigested making for poor nutrient absorption among other things.
So, even though we are often busy and harried, take the time chill and find your zen before you eat. Not only will your body thank you, but you may find that you actually enjoy your food a bit more. - 12 hours ago
