Sometimes the first step really is the hardest.
Today was my first double in a long time.
My day went like:
Eat, run, stretch, eat, rest, run, eat, sleep (with a few other light household chores thrown in the mix). It was nice, but I was still tired. Plus, I was kinda dreading the speed work tonight. I knew it was going to be extremely difficult.
Not all days are like that.
Peak week is hard. When the body is tired, and the motivation isn’t there, discipline needs to kick in. I mean, lately after the kids get off to school, I just want to crawl back in bed and stay there until - well, for the rest of the day! But my run needs to get done, kids need to eat... you know the drill. But I laced up and got it done!! Easy Run in the morning followed by a threshold run in the afternoon. Those repeats were so hard! I thought about bailing out of the last one, but I just couldn’t let fear of something physically difficult compromise my goals. With each step comes improvement. I kept myself in the game and finished strong! A few more hard days then I can taper! #taper #marathontraining #fargomarathon #almostthere #mnrunner #runstrong #quittersneverwin #lifetimerunwoodbury #lifetimerun - 2 hours ago
