Good morning everyone. Just wanted to share a pic shot with artificial lighting in my studio last night. I’m a for sure a naturel light photographer by heart, but if this lighting source is not available it is definitely a huge advantage knowing how to work with studio lighting AND, not to forget, how to post process the pics afterwards to replicate natural daylight and create the feel of authenticity.

Relaxing start to the weekend, enjoying vegan crispy oat waffles for breakfast topped with @nakulaorganic coconut yogurt and my favourite berries. If you’re wondering why the waffles are crispy, I add stiffly whipped aquafaba to the batter. The recipe is below or you can tap the link in my profile. Hoping you have a lovely weekend xx

Vegan Crispy Oat Waffles 
1/4 cup aquafaba (chickpea water)
13/4 cups almond milk 
1/4 cup coconut oil, melted 
2-3 tbsp rice malt syrup 
1 tsp vanilla extract 
1 cup buckwheat flour 
3/4 cup brown rice flour 
1/2 cup Gf rolled oats 
1 tbsp chia seeds, milled in blender 
1 tsp ground cinnamon 
11/2 tsp baking powder 
pinch of sea salt 
1 tsp apple cider vinegar 
Whip the chickpea water for about 5 minutes until peaks form. Combine almond milk, coconut oil, rice malt syrup and vanilla extract in a small bowl and whisk. Add flours, oats, milled chia seeds, ground cinnamon, baking powder and sea salt to a large mixing bowl and stir to combine. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients a whisk until combined. Gently stir in apple cider vinegar. Fold in whipped aquafaba. Set batter aside while the waffle iron heats. When the waffle iron is hot, brush with a little oil and pour on sufficient batter, about 1/4 cup. Cook until slightly brown. As you make the waffles, keep the cooked waffles warm in a moderately heated oven arranged in a single layer for crispness. Serve with toppings you prefer, like fresh fruit, coconut yogurt and maple syrup. Leftovers can be frozen in zip bags, kept up to 3 weeks and reheated in a toaster. Ai chef de ceva dulce? Am o idee pe blog - clătite cu iaurt, cottage cheese și fructe de pădure. Se fac foarte ușor și au o textură minunată, diferită de cea a clătitelor clasice. Eu le-am făcut cu făină integrală de grîu dar tu o poți înlocui cu făină fără gluten dacă vrei - cocos, migdale, orez, hrișcă șamd. 
De asemenea, dacă nu ai chef de iaurt și topping de miere și fructe de pădure, poți să le mănînci așa simple, sunt excelente ca mic dejun sau snack.

hello gorgeous 🤤👋🏻 lunch at @maderarestaurant in CA this past week. PERFECT pan-fried snapper + spinach + crispy black beans (AMAZING) + chorizo + mushrooms & a side of GF blue corn bread (they brought it to me instead of the usual restaurant bread because I said I was gluten-free!! how cool 👌🏻) did a lot of eating out by myself and owning the good ole “table for one” this past week and honestly it feels so fancy. gotta do that more often 😎 .

I went to a refresher seminar yesterday on holistic heart health and can’t stop thinking about everything I learned. I wish I would’ve known what I was passionate about in high school and university so that I could’ve honed in on what I’m good at and can actually stay focused on. Hope you don’t mind but nerd alert for one sec. 🤓

Did you know that heart attacks are the leading cause of death in Canada? Or that statistics say 80% of people with diabetes will have a heart attack? There’s good news though... we are in control of our own health. That includes our arteries and blood and heart and every organ for that matter because they are all related. One more time. All of our organs are connected, they are not individually compartmentalized and do not function solely.

Here’s the thing. I believe first and foremost, if we want to be healthy, we need to have a healthy diet and lifestyle. I also believe though, that supplements are awesome additions to cheer on those healthy foods and support out bodies a little extra where they need it!

These are some of my favourite tips when it comes to supplements and ones I follow in my daily routine:
1. Get yourself a good quality B-complex that has B1, B6, B9, B12 and magnesium. Ain’t nobody got time for being sad, tired or sluggish.
2. Chlorophyll. So wheatgrass, spirulina, chlorella and blue-green algae because you love your liver and you want your liver to love you.
3. MSM y’all. Creaky knees, brittle hair and nails and your skin issues can often times be a deficiency.
4. Andddd probiotics of course because everything starts from the gut.

“And such is life” We must take leaps of faith in order to settle in our minds the what-ifs and the should-haves. Often enough, things don't turn out the way we wished for so many moons they would. The endless mornings spent in the moment between dreaming and being awake allowed us to imagine, to create, to cultivate a future or an idea. When our reality falls short of these beautiful desires, it can be almost automatic to feel disappointed, bothered, burned. Being vulnerable does not make you a mess. We should feel peace from trying, from wishing, allowing for the possibility that these desires may come to fruition. Giving your heart is brave and magical and beautiful. FRIDAY🙌🏼 came home from a long week of work and immediately started a bath, put on a soothing face mask, made a cup of herbal tea and sat in much needed silence 🧘🏼‍♀️ taking time to yourself in the midst of a gogogo world is so important to recharge your energy levels. Lunch today was LIT. A big bowl of brown rice pasta coated in @traderjoes vegan pesto and topped with broccoli and turkey meatballs. I mixed in chopped spinach, crushed red pepper, dried parsley, garlic powder and salt and pepper. Cooked them on a cast iron skillet for 3-4 minutes each side. Any leftover balls can be kept in the fridge for quick throw together meals. This lunch came together in 10 minutes, my version of fast food and no need for meal prepping. Who has time for that?! 🙅🏼‍♀️

With the pistachio pesto from yesterday's post, I made these mini pizza bites. It was super quick, as the dough was from @traderjoes and the pesto was ready. Topped with mozzarella, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and a bit of parmesan. Munchkin pretty much only ate pesto and cheese, but oh well. At least she ate pesto.
