This morning Kit and I were arguing about what we were going to do, before I headed into work. Sounds crazy, right? But honestly, it’s the thing we most frequently debate.
Me - being super indecisive or wanting to go to the store and Kit - always thinking there’s nothing fun to do, come on Reno! Probably not our kindest moments to each other, but it happens.
I dreaded going to work, but here I am working (gotta pay those bills!). But the funniest thing happened. I mean I wouldn’t say funny - but ironic. Melissa and I had taken a break to grab Starbucks and ran into one of the kind security guards, Jose. He was patiently waiting at a table for a friend and as we went over to stand in line to order, he expressed how much he wanted to buy our drinks during our small talk. He called it a "friendly gesture". He continued to encourage us to "go big" and order large drinks and to get a snack to enjoy during our shift. The best part? He didn't even have anything from Starbucks. He was merely just waiting for a friend and his "friendly gesture" meant the world to us.
Whether you focus on the cup of coffee, the small talk, or the act of kindness, it really is the little things in life. It makes all of the “nothing fun to do” debates poof into thin air, because at the end of the day, there are still kind people in this world. Anybody else feel like kind people are far and few between sometimes? It costs $0 to be a kind human being, I believe in you. #ChangeWithUsBlog - 7 hours ago
