The National Museum of Montenegro presents Inner Migrations at Gallery DADO, Cetinje, Montenegro from now until July 29th 2017.
Curated by Ana Ivanović, the exhibition presents various artistic positions through different visual languages and media. What all of the artists have in common is the fact that they were faced with the issue of migration, in the broadest sense of the word.
Artists Branislav Nikolic, Vladimir Frelih, Ana Petrovic, Goran Dragas, Jovana Popic, Dragan Vojvodic, Selman Trtovac, Radenko Milak, Dragan Matic left their native countries and towns, mainly due to the war circumstances in the 1990s, but even later, too, travelling abroad for educational purposes or professional development; they all live and work between several places or often change their place of residence.
Furthermore, their way of thinking and their behaviour in art are closely related: they are artists who take an active attitude towards the cultural, social and political circumstances in which they live and create, with the aim of indicating the neuralgic points of the present moment from their own individual positions and in their own art expressions.
The Gallery's working hours are from Tuesday – Saturday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; 5 p.m to 9 p.m.
Entrance is free.
