“Baby got back” 😅😂🤣☺️🤣😂 Excerise programming should focus on stabilizing and strengthening the deep spine and major muscles around the lower back. This is all very helpful for preventing low back pain. Some great ideas to add to your regimen are the side plank, modified curl up and the bird dog. Remember to warm up and cool down. Focus on good form and training the movement.

🌟What’s your body fat percentage? .
📸 When most people diet the goal is to lose weight. However the main focus should be to lower their body fat percentage. A loss in weight does not necessarily equate to a loss in body fat. So monitoring your body fat levels with regular progress pictures is a good way to go.

🥅 If your ultimate goal is to look more muscular and more lean then here is a good way to go about achieving that:
.
⛏ If you are above 15% body fat (use the picture above for a rough reference) then aim to cut down until you have clearly visible abs. This can be achieved by eating in a calorie deficit for a prolonged period of time. Lifting weights should be a priority whilst doing this along with eating 1g per 1lb of bodyweight to help preserve as much muscle mass as possible.

👆🏼 Once you have reached this you can start to increase your calories putting you into a calorie surplus. Concentrate on increasing training volume with your lifts as well. Continue to lean bulk (gradual increases in weight each week is good) until your body fat rises to around 15% again. Then repeat the process of cutting and bulking.

🐷 This way you will limit the amount of body fat you acquire and won’t feel like you have let yourself go too far during the bulk bulk.

🤷🏼‍♂️ Try to stick to one process at a time. Either cutting (calorie deficit) or bulking (calorie deficit). Don’t get caught in the middle otherwise you will struggle to achieve either goal. Stick with one, see it through, then move on to the next one.

In this American culture people are obsessed with our physical image. I don't know when in our culture this obsession with the unreal, perfect, and fake started, But I know what to do about it.  So we have created a sisterhood of women that support each other no matter what, at every size, shape, and age. Your value is way more than skin deep. 
I as a trainer care more about my clients heart, mind, and spirit than her body... because I know if the women in my group fitness class focus on health from the inside out they will not only feel good in their own skin they will conquer. conquer anything and everything.

I have this new AWESOME client. @acguy99. 
I cannot tell his story and do it justice. What I will say is that this Mans determination to gain his upper and lower body strength back enough to start walking again is STUNNING! Being a paraplegic there is about a 5% chance to have the ability to walk and he one of those blessed 5%, and he gunna to be the 1% that does gain his mobility BACK! 🤩
Tyler does Sessions with me @snapleduc, sessions with his rehab and sessions wherever else he can. All so he can see his own success come back to walking again. This is a scary statistic because it does not include overweight adults. ⠀

There are so many reasons that our society faces a statistic like this...unhealthy relationship with food, low self esteem, the convenience and low price of fast food, last of education, reactive instead of preventative health care...the list goes on! ⠀

How do we encourage and motivate a large percentage of our population to make better, more well informed choices, to get moving? Well we stop treating them as a statistic, they are people with stories and feelings and battles all their own! We lift up instead of talking down!⠀
⠀
We encourage rather than giving the overweight person at the gym a judging look...they are there putting in the work, and it’s the dirty/judging looks that discourages them to come back and keep fighting for a better quality of life!⠀

No one is perfect! Our society needs to start showing a bit more empathy rather than passing judgement on someone we don’t even know! ⠀

Looking back at this week like, “holy moly, it’s already Friday?!” This week has had so many ups and downs but you build from it right?! Just like I’ve been building the glutes and hammies this week!

Been alternating one fast paced, light weight leg day and one heavy weight day to try and thoroughly work my legs. I’ve also found I really love working my Hammies more than I thought!

I’m one year into a solid training routine and a solid nutrition lifestyle and I have been seeing progress the last couple months and it’s encouraging and it fuels my goals! Give me another couple years and let’s see what the gains are! Maybe a couple babies and more muscles, who knows maybe I’ll renew my CPT certification! 💪🏼👶🏽

Being insulin resistant isn’t the end of your carb eating days, my friend! There are ways to manage the issue and ways to still enjoy your food🙌🏼

🔸My Top Nutrition Tips for Insulin Resistance🔸
1️⃣ Stop eating processed food!!! No more fast food, no more white rice, white bread, white anything!! You HAVE TO stick to whole grains, whole wheat, Brown rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, ie complex carbs.
.
2️⃣ Add more high-fiber foods!! Veggies that are fresh, low-sodium canned, or frozen: tomatoes, spinach, colorful peppers, greens such as collard, kale, and cruciferous veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts. No veggie juices!! Juices take away all fiber which is exactly what you need. Whole fruits are great too! They have fiber when eaten raw which will lessen the insulin spike from their fructose.

3️⃣ Avoid saturated fat. Choose low-fat dairy, or nonfat unsweetened milk and yogurt. High saturated fat has been linked to insulin resistance.

4️⃣ Add more fish and healthy fats to your diet. They will help slow the rate of digestion and healthy fats are super essential and can reduce heart disease because of their omega-3 fatty acids. Avocados are a great choice too! 🥑 😋

5️⃣Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! Move yo bodaayyy! Exercise can help your cells become more sensitive to insulin. Now you don’t have to train for a triathlon, but get those legs and arms moving, increase that heart rate, get comfortable with being uncomfortable!

6️⃣Be sure to have just about the same amount of carbs each meal and include all the above tips into those meals. Perfect meal: lean protein (eye of round steak), complex carbs (sweet potatoes), mixed veggies (broccoli & cauliflower), and healthy fats (avocado, nuts, seeds)

💕just filmed a video explaining what my online workout + wellness program is, full 6 min video on my facebook page! in process of compressing it to fit on this instagram tv thing, so give me a minute but it will soon be up there as well! my approach differs from most as it is from a medical standpoint for those looking to stick to a healthy routine without exercise taking over your life. I workout 3x per week & do cardio 3x per week which allows me to not burn out and continue looking forward to training. I eat a mix of fruit, veggies, & oreos while maintaining the same weight since senior year of high school (actually less with more muscle tone). aaaand above all else, it makes me feel good. that was the goal all along and to have FINALLY found that balance feels more empowering & inspiring than I ever thought possible. 🖤

Building a nice, pronounced & round back side takes time and consistent work. Like any other muscle in your body, you must perform exercises that directly target your glutes in order to promote maximum muscle gain in that area. Exercises such as donkey kicks, kick backs, hip thrusts and modified side plank clam shells with band are amongst some of the most effective for training the glutes. .
