there is nothing more powerful than being up to something bigger than yourself. when we focus just on our own comforts, our world is only has big as how we feel about something, rather than the impact we have on those around us - our happiness becomes predicted on how we feel, and this is a volatile thing. “making a difference” doesn’t have to mean saving the world - it’s more about a way of BEING rather than what you’re doing. making a difference can be a ten second interaction with the person serving you coffee: taking the time to smile, to ask a genuine question, to listen to what the person is saying for just those seconds, rather than stay caught up in the noise in your head.
