From grey and cool in Winnipeg to (really) hot and muggy in Houston! ️ Part of me loves traveling and yet there's another part that can feel rather anxious about it. It's not surprising, really, since almost everything is different from what you're used to.
In my travels today I noticed how every decision is a conscious choice. How present travel makes you. It starts with deciding what to pack and then goes on from there to deciding what time to leave the house to arrive at the airport, what you need to do to get through security, how to get from gate to gate, when to go to the bathroom, what to eat, when to eat, and how to get to where you're going to next.
When going through your normal day you may not give some of these things much thought. There's a habit and a routine to them. Or, if you're like me, maybe you're not always so good at taking care of yourself.
But when traveling, especially alone, the presence (and even assertiveness) required for self-care become very apparent because it's all new and these choices really affect how you get through the day.
I thought it was a pretty cool lesson. How about you, do you like traveling? Or what tricks do you have to make it less stressful? - 6 hours ago
