In an ideal world, I’d do nothing but sit in parks and read allll day long 🤓 but that won’t pay the bills, so until then, I try to make sure I read at least a book a week. I know what you’re thinking, “Kayla, that sounds great, but I don’t have time to read that much.”
I know, I know. It sounds a bit unrealistic. But if you want to try reading more (or start doing anything new, for that matter), think about how you’re spending your time and what really matters to you.
I rarely watch TV (and if I do, it’s probably something I’ve already seen 5895 times), and I take whatever book I’m reading everywhere - on the train, in the check out line at Trader Joe’s, even when eating out or grabbing a quick happy hour drink.
Replacing a screen with a book also helps me be more present and has been a great way to meet new friends (or cute boys ) because I’m not glued to my phone. I’m almost finished with Mildred Pierce - what should I read next?! - 13 hours ago
