In order to create a balanced musculature and physique, and to ensure your well conditioned, fit & healthy, it is important to train each of the three muscle fibres! Too many people (in the lifting/physique world) place too much emphasis on type 2a hypertrophy, using the age old 3-4 sets of 8-10 reps to generate growth. Sure, this’ll work the 2a, but you’ll end up with a physique that isn’t correctly balanced, chances are you’ll also end up with postural issues, long term glycogen depletion, fatigue, and no fitness or conditioning to speak of! Mix up your training, it’s fairly simple to hit all 3 muscle fibres by changing your rep volume... rule of thumb as follows -

Type 1 - 20reps +
Type 2a - 8-12reps
Type 2b - 3-6reps

Balance your training, avoid plateaus, and you will see & feel the difference!

Way back when i was 40 pounds overweight i was still going to the gym and i believed i was watching what i ate. My weight still crept up and i just didn't know why

Nikde nezapominejme na dulezitost mobility a rozsahu pohybu. Hlavne pokud travime vetsinu naseho casu silovym a bodybuilding treninkem. 😉

Don’t be afraid to combine different exercises together. It’s only going to force you to learn how to control your movement in space and to keep focus. 😉

A little bit from this morning. Always trying to get better at creating torque in the hips and shoulders as well as keeping the pelvis bias in the right direction (depending on the drill) + straight back/proud chest. Never using too much load so that my technique would slip. Also, I’ve been adding some kind of rear delt exercise after each lift, no matter the body part I am doing in the last few weeks. Seems like a good way to keep working on posture and the whole shoulder system + it gives you more time to work on joint ROM during warmup instead. We’ll see how well that works down the line. 😉

A little bit from this morning. Always looking for those hip joint corners and areas of restriction. Hip work should be a daily. Pre and post workout habits are just as important as the actual workout because longevity is the real reason for exercise. 😉

Neustale hledani koncu kycelniho kloubu a mist, ktera jsou blokovana. Podobne veci maji na kazdodennim poradku. Co delame pred a po treninku je totiz stejne dulezite jako trenink samotny, protoze dlouhodobost je proc vlastne doopravdy trenujeme 😉

Only sticking to the drills where I feel strong and mechanically stable. Continuing to work movements where my lack of ROM does not compromise my spine position + working on what I am missing elsewhere (under no ext. load of course). In this case keeping in mind the difference between power cleans vs reg. deep cleans + trap bar squat/deadlift vs BB squats (using TB squat/deadlift+front squat instead of reg. BB squat because of lack of hip flexion and ankle dorsi flexion) 😉

Moje momentalne 2 nejoblibenejsi cviky na rozsah pohybu pro praci na flexi v kycelnim kloubu and pozici na hlavou. Vzdycky se snazim najit rohy kloubu, nejvzdalenejsi rozsahy pohybu a mista kde jsou blokace. Idealni v ramci rozcviceni. Minimum 2 min. 😉

Next progression after the straight leg toe to bar raise. Always make sure you work your way up through the drill before you step up to the next progression. Otherwise, you are building bad habits that are going to be tough to change once you get to the higher difficulty drills and movements 😉

Been doing a lot of static work lately. Seem like static work is a huge weakness for most of us. We can usually squat, cruch, do pushups etc. but we have problems actually holding the positions static, even under no external load. Try it guys. Might find it tougher than it looks 😉

Snazim se posledni dobou pracovat na hodne statickych pozicich. Pro vetsinu z nas to byva velka slabost. Vetsinou nemame problem s drepy, sed-lehy, kliky atd, ale pokud to mame staticky drzet, situace se meni, i kdyz na nas neni zadny externi tlak. Zkuste to. Mozna zjistite, ze je to slozitejsi nez se zda. 😉
