The seven programs we last ran in Trinidad were special for a number of reasons. Not only was it the 25th country we’ve worked in since being founded a little over two years ago, but we were also able to bring in an element to what we do that hadn’t been touched upon since October of 2015 - giving our young beneficiaries an opportunity to meet and learn from professional athletes.
This collaboration was with an incredible group of like-minded individuals, operating under the Can Bou Play Foundation brand. And man... I can’t tell you how special it is to bring just one, let alone a group, of these guys in for a clinic. I mean, these are athletes who have worked tirelessly to master their craft, with many of them having reached the pinnacle of their careers whether it be the CONCACAF Champions League or even the World Cup. When you can bring in a guy like that... a guy who maybe had been sitting in that same position just a few years back, who ultimately used the game of soccer to create all of these different opportunities for himself both scholastically and professionally. Well, you don’t know what that might do for a kid or what it might spark within them.
Thankful to these guys for not just inspiring the next generation of footballers in their own country, but for inspiring me to better reach the children we exist to serve.
And a big thank you to the genius behind the lens: @jonohirst - 5 hours ago
