The fruit of goodness is a difficult one. For we must first believe - and then act - as righteous as we really are. And often, we overlook the extent of righteousness we have been given. But take time and join us in today’s prayer - and we’d encourage you to read the passage it is written from as well!
Prayer from Psalm 37:1-11
“Today, I pray for goodness to flow from my soul.
May it be independent from the world’s actions,
For their wrong actions may receive for them quick rewards,
But the reward for my life is seen in eternity.
Therefore, I will not fret or be envious of their lifestyles,
For my life has been bought and changed.
Forgive me for longing after what the world has,
For compromising while fighting for it myself,
And for forgetting the full weight of glory You have given me.
Today I trust in something greater,
And for Your glory, I seek good deeds.
I pray that throughout the process,
You begin to change my desires to flow in line with Yours.
I commit my day and all that is in it to You,
Have my attention,
Capture my affection,
Lure my motives back to integrity,
And constantly bring my eyes to Your Spirit’s movements.
I wait for You to show up in my day,
And in goodness I will respond to everyone along the way.
For Your great honor, Jesus. Amen.”
