You’re Too Much
In my twenties I had a play in my head I wanted to write called Too Much, Too Loud, Too Too. I’m an expressive so all that ‘too much’ happens for me on the outside, but the flip of my version is true too - when ‘too loud, too too’ is happening on the inside.
There are those of us who self-identify as ‘creatives’, you know, the artists of the world, the innovators, the designers, the out of the box-ers... and that’s all well and good, but what about loud people? We are often lumped in to the ‘creative’ box because we don’t fit the quiet one. Some of us have a wave of roaring thoughts, feelings, ideas, insights, suggestions, conversations, sensations and more coming through us all the time. We are loud both on the OUTSIDE and on the INSIDE. Yes, we may be creative, but creating isn’t what brings us peace. Expressing does.
These are my people. I get you. Oh yes indeed, I get you. Sometimes the internal loudness, when not expressed threatens to swallow me up. We are the EXPRESSIVES of the world.
Expressives: people who think AS they talk, we speak THROUGH our body, we feel IN the touch, we hear as we’re TALKING. Oh boy... we’re tough for the introverts out there, and the thinking creatives too. And this is who we are, this is what brings us peace.
I get you. All you expressives out there - I get you. Your story is not greater or more daunting than anyone else’s - it’s just different. When you’re Living Your Best Story, knowing the story of who you are matters. Living on the path of who and how you are is where peace lives. BTW... Your story as an expressive is as miraculous and beautiful as the story of a thinker... - 4 days ago
