Steven Spielberg (E.T., Indiana Jones, Schindler;s List…) said that “Audiences are harder to please if you’re just giving them effects, but they’re easy to please if it’s a good story.” Explainer videos are no different. A bad story simply doesn’t sell. 🛍🛒
A good one, self-explains itself and ideally manages to get the message across in a very short timeframe.
A common mistake with explainer videos is writing the script by yourself, not testing the message and assume that everyone gets it. 🧐 If you want your video to be clear, self-explain the product in the most simple manner, and make sure it gets the message across - you better run it by someone who knows nothing about your product. Ideally a layman with no prior background of the product, and then ask him to explain the product to you.
Let him finish his explanation, don’t interrupt! 🤣
