So I’m not going to lie, the past few days, I have felt hideous. I’d been doing so well with my body image and positive vibes, but if I’m honest, having to wear and feel comfortable in ‘summer clothing’, has been a struggle. I don’t feel body confident at the moment. 
I’m worrying that this new pill I’m on is effecting my body, and my high blood pressure (reason why my old pill got changed). I just can’t understand it 😕
I feel bloated (should be star week this week, but on this new pill you don’t come on), feel flabby with shorts on, and trying to find a floaty top to cover it. 
Yesterday, I done so much body magic, and the scales aren’t too bad this morning (no, I’m not obsessed, I’m weighing everyday to understand my body, following a different style of eating healthy) 
Must point out, that although on Slimming World a BBQ is deemed as healthy (pasta, potato, meat, salad etc), it’s so easy to over eat. I tracked as much as I could in MFP, and surprised how quick the calories mounted up. Have been over my calories Friday and Saturday, but when you look at my foods, they don’t look bad. 
Just need to pull up my positive pants, and push hard for the next few months, so I can feel confident when we get the next sunny spell.

SUNDAY FACT BOOMS "WILL LIFTING MAKE ME BULKY" .................NO............. probably the number one thing we hear on a daily basis from women clients when we start doing some resistance training or using free weights is.. will it make me bulky
"i don't want to look like a bodybuilder a man"

Believe me just like you won't burn all your body fat off overnight you won't turn in to Arnold swansinger overnight just because you lifted some weight.

It takes months and years of dedication to put on serious muscle, but what it will do is start to improve your overall strength health fitness as well as physique rating and bone density, not to mention get you leaner and toned looking.

Getting it in outside 💯

You might know I am obsessed with two things 
Outdoor workouts and high intensity training 
I need to move fast and hard but don’t forget to keep time for stretching! 
I do this everyday for 20-30 mins 
Sunday is a day of short , max effort sessions 30 mins after waking up! 
Try out my workout at home in a gym or in the park. 
45 sec on 15 seconds rest 
Repeat 4 circuits for a killer energetic workout! 
Warm up first 
I did a light 2km jog 
Warm down and keep stretching to lean out the muscles so you don’t get bulky !

My STORY :-) I was always underweight weighing around 48kg at the height of 170cm! Yes, you can count the rib cages of mine! Putting on muscle mass was always my goal. I had to give up high cardio workouts and I tried many ways - eat sleep eat sleep eat sleep, but guess what? I put on ONLY 1kg for 1 whole month!! Don't be envious but yeah! I then added workout in my routine, there I was getting stronger in strength but my body size still remained the same.

Finally, I met my coach and she shared with me about what my body really needed. With protein itself, it is not sufficient. I needed a balanced meal which consists of carbs, protein, healthy fats, vitamin and minerals. She noted, it is not how much can you eat, but how well your body absorbs! THAT MADE ME STOP & THINK!! I decided to give a try and stayed consistent. I upgraded my diet plans and also workouts, gained over 15kg of muscle mass throughout the Body Transformation Challenge. My goal now is to become 70kg and participate in men's physique competition one day!!

When the gym lighting is sort of on point. Todays pump was brought to you by a giant bowl of oats and pasta. I have finally finished my deload week and stoked to set my new program. I have a bigggg feeling I'm going to be super sore for the next couple weeks - the PHUL program I plan on doing looks pretty intense. 😏 Now to go faceplant into my burger since my boyfriend was digging hamburgers tonight instead of pancakes.

Pullups are one of the most straightforward exercises — pull your body up to a bar and then lower yourself back down. If you've ever tried to do one, however, you know that their straightforwardness is exceeded by their intensity. It takes strength, both physical and mental, to perform pullups.

Some have even called them the "toughest exercise ever." Although they're tough, and may still evoke a feeling of dread if you were among those forced to do them in gym class, there's good reason to include pullups in your weekly exercise routine. Your hard work will reap bountiful rewards. Squats obviously help to build your leg muscles (including your quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves), but they also create an anabolic environment, which promotes body-wide muscle building.
In fact, when done properly, squats are so intense that they trigger the release of testosterone and human growth hormone in your body, which are vital for muscle growth and will also help to improve muscle mass when you train other areas of your body aside from your legs.

So squats can actually help you improve both your upper and lower body strength. Dips are definitely a overall “mass movement” for the pushing muscles of the upper body, but depending on how you use them, they can better target either the chest or triceps. By leaning the torso forward (at about a 45 degree angle) and letting the elbows flair out to the sides, the chest will be forced to perform the brunt of the work. However, if you remain upright and keep the elbows tucked into your body, the triceps will get the more significant “butt kicking!”

My athletic passion began LONG before OCR – I learned to skate the same year I started walking and went from figure skating to ringette to hockey. I played hockey for 17 years, but hung up my skates in 2015 due to Post Concussion Syndrome.

In 2011 I was drafted to the Canadian Women’s Hockey League but did not make the final roster of the, now defunct, Burlington Barracudas after injuries kept me from training at the level I needed to. I represented Greece at the 2013 ISBHF World Ball Hockey Championships and was a member of the gold-medal-winning Canadian National Ball Hockey Championships team in 2014.

I was never good at sports, and always avoided competition, in fact I cant recall a time that I voluntarily engaged on any real competition. Funny thing is that I consider myself quite competitive in almost anything but physical activities. 
That’s why getting on stage was particularly challenging for me, not just for the training and discipline I had to put in but more for the mental fight to overcome that fear of being exposed to failure, which I realized was the reason for my evasive past on that area

Today has been a milestone for me, for the first time I willingly participated in an event that I could easily be defeated and present myself totally exposed (literally just wearing board shorts) to be judged, I ended 4th place which doesn’t qualify me for national level, but I am very happy with the result

A learning experience, an awesome journey and a teaching lesson about commitment

Eggylicious oats 💜🍴 I love the way these fluff up when they're cooking to create some serious volume. They end up being more filling than my pancake recipes that practically use the same amount of all the same ingredients. #proats #oatmeal .

Two 'handfuls' of oats cooked in half soymilk, half water. Two eggs, and a spoon of peanut butter stirred in. Stir, stir, stir! Topped with chopped apple and walnuts, five spice, and a splash of soymilk. I'm currently cooking everything with five spice, and finding it really elevates anything you would normally use cinnamon in!

The last couple days haven't been my highest points mentally. I haven't slept well, and it's really highlighted the importance of being well rested. Luckily I'm starting to feel back in the swing of things. Super motivated for a productive Sunday 😎

The weekend is here and if you’re like me, it’s time to get things done around the house and do grocery shop. -
A little trick, I learned a long time ago, to have a successful grocery shop is to shop the walls.  Stay out of the aisles.  All the fresh produce, meats and dairy are along the perimeter of the store and all the heavily processed foods (packaged and canned) are in the aisles. -
I see so many people going through the checkout with very little fresh produce and mostly processed foods.  If only they knew what that is doing to their bodies! -
Also, another tip is, go prepared and shop with a grocery list and stick to be list.  I find it helps me with any temptation; if it’s not on my list....I don’t buy it. -
