On the real, it actually is good to shock your system and eat a little treat throughout the week! Clean eating is good for weight loss, but you will plateau if you’re eating the same stuff all the time. So not only can it get boring, but it doesn’t help ya! Go figure! SUCH a fun day today celebrating @healthypursuitnutrition belated bday!

We met @rooted.in.healing @justbekitchen for coffee.  I just absolutely love meeting new people who are as passionate about health and wellness as I am, and who understand the healing journey.

I felt so filled with happiness and inspiration after sitting and talking for over an hour.
*
*
We then headed to @avantifandb for some Lunch where I got a grass-fed burger, with a side salad and duck fat fries 🤤

We had a glass of rose on the rooftop after that.  I had some carbs I had some wine because in the moment that is what made me happy, and as I’ve said before happiness is 100% essential in a healthy diet/lifestyle even if it might not be part of whatever protocol you might be on at the time.

I hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine and was able to find happiness in their own way ❤️

❄️ winter wonderland ❄️ My parents, my birth place and holder of a chunk of my ❤️ Celebrating my parents and 40 years, WOW!
A weekend with my parents and siblings. 
But, not my husband and Menach.
All of us together again would be super special.
Still it was a really hard decision to make - should I go? As much as I wanted to - the mere thought of being away made my heart ache. I would miss them - my husband, my son - so much! It would be my first time away from them.

And then it hit me
That is exactly why I must go - 
There is no love like that of a parent for their child
My ❤️ for my own little family helped me further appreciate my parents - their love for me and my siblings and everything they gave us.
Parenting is constantly giving. 
Parenting is Cheerleading. Parenting is love. Parenting is selfless.
When I think about my few years of parenting I am in awe of my parents.
I am so happy that I made the decision to come and celebrate them!

Obesity is defined as “abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health” It is a disease & it affects more than 1/3 of the U.S. population 🇺🇸 In fact, the epidemic is so widespread that the numbers have nearly tripled between 1975-2017 & unfortunately shows no sign of reversing ⛔️
In 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults were classified as being overweight (650 million were obese) & according to the CDC, an estimated 112k excess deaths per year are associated with obesity 😲 The disease puts individuals at risk for more than 30 chronic health conditions. Some of these conditions include: type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, gallstones, heart disease, fatty liver disease, sleep apnea, GERD, stress incontinence, heart failure, degenerative joint disease, birth defects, miscarriages, asthma & other respiratory conditions, as well as numerous cancers 😱
Recently, some posters have been saying that we should stress the importance of having a positive body image & that we must love ourselves no matter what. I agree!! 👍🏻This is imperative & is 💯% true BUT when it comes to the overweight/obesity epidemic & ALL of the health risks involved, I couldn’t disagree more.📍Don’t misunderstand, I am NOT trying to offend anyone but I strongly feel that some people just aren’t seeing the bigger picture here. 📸 Rather than putting so much emphasis on being #antidiet, shouldn’t we really be focusing our attention on encouraging people to get healthy in general - both physically & psychologically 🤔

Do you wake up craving sweet somethings? 
Try a freshly squeezed carrot and ornage juice instead of a processed sweet treat.
 This sweetness will take you towards your health goals, not away... Don’t have a juicer? No need to panic, this was made in my nutribullet.
 I grated a carrot and added it to the blender with some spring water and an orange, a knob of ginger and a slice of happy.
Then I squeezed it through a muslin cloth left over from the babies...it was sweet heaven. 
Keep the fruit and veg in the fridge to enjoy a cold juice, as it is hard to wait for it to get to that crisp coolness after you have made it.

When we sleep we allow the body to repair, restore, and refresh itself so we can function at our best. When we rob ourselves of this precious process our bodies have no choice but to operate at a less than optimal level. Um, no thanks, I need all the help I can get! Poor quality sleep most noticeably impacts brain function, physical and emotional well-being, and is strongly linked to weight gain! Now I’ve got your attention. So how do we improve our sleep? Here are a few easy to implement strategies to better sleep:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Adhere to a regular sleep schedule. Ideally going to bed around 10pm and no later than 11pm and waking when the sun rises.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Sleep in complete darkness. Do your best to eliminate any light in the bedroom.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Keep the temperature of your bedroom on the cooler side.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Limit caffeine consumption after 1:00pm.

5. Here’s the hardest but most useful of them all: Stop using electronics (yes, ALL of them) an hour before bed. I know you think it helps you unwind, but science tells us it actually does the opposite.

Switching it up a little today with a little video to bring you the goodness that is chia seed pudding🌸 I added the simple instructions to my stories and also added the steps to my highlights so they will live there for you to reference whenever you’d like. ☝🏼
You can play around with any toppings you love. I would normally add berries but I just ran out so honeycrisp apples and banana it is! I also added a layer of @purely_elizabeth granola from @wholefoodsnapa to add yummy flavor and texture... all about that texture! 🤗 
My favorite part aside from the awesome flavor and health benefits is how satisfying and filling chia seed pudding is! I don’t feel the need for a snack or my next meal for a good several hours. Win win! Have any ideas for any other yummy toppings or additions? .

When you are so worried about something, you body senses that you are in pain. It doesn’t matter if that pain is mental and not physical, your body senses and treats it the same. Your body senses you constant mental pain of worrying about your finances, the same way it would physical pain. The human body is wired for survival, so it is going to look for a way to protect you from this “dangerous” situation that it is sensing.⠀
.⠀
My worries, fears and the feelings of financial scarcity when I was a child and being deathly feared of ever returning back to that place, caused my anxiety to go through the roof. My body thought it was protecting me from these mental “pains” by developing a coping mechanism. That coping mechanism was eating. Even when I didn’t want to eat. Eating even when I was full and wanted nothing more than to stop eating when I was full.⠀
.⠀
I would feel calm for a short period of time afterwards, so my body started to see that this coping mechanism was “working” and it became a habit. A habit that started to completely take over my life when I would become anxious.⠀
.⠀
I didn’t want to go out. I wasn’t able to wear hardly any of my clothing. I was in pain. I then started sabotaging myself in other areas of my life. Being completely brutally honest about what I was feeling was the light at the end of the tunnel for me. It was the beginning of my journey out of the dark and getting my life back.⠀
.⠀
Trying to fix it on my own without saying out loud what I was FEELING, was what held me back from healing. It’s what caused me to stay stuck where I was and in such a terrible place.⠀
.⠀
I am grateful for my situation now because I can help other women who are experiencing the same thing. ⠀

But you don’t need to struggle. You don’t need to stay stuck. You don’t need to try and do it all on your own.⠀
.⠀
I can honestly tell you that opening up is scary, but it is not as scary as never knowing if you will be able to come out of that dark place and get your life back.⠀

It’s a perfect spread if you have a nut allergy and can easily be made at home with sunflower seeds and a blender!

So I’ve been on an overnight oats kick this week...I just got so excited when my daughter asked me to buy her her own jar cause she liked it and wants to make them...as a parent this is a huge win 🤩 trying to instill healthy eating habits is a constant struggle with kids and we have to keep trying and keep offering different options or ways the good stuff is prepared (steamed, baked, sautéed, grilled...soaked in chia seeds 😂)...it’s exhausting and can be frustrating...especially when you have multiple kids and they all have different palates cause they are all different little humans...but they will sometimes shock you and you gotta roll with it...today’s concoction was butternut squash with coconut cashew yogurt, chia seeds, steamed apples, pear, cinnamon, almond milk, walnuts and a drizzle of raw honey...and she tried it (not as big of a fan as the PB&J but she didn’t not like it) #winning #overnightoats #butternutsquash #apples #pear #walnuts #cashewyogurt #almondmilk #cinnamon #rawhoney #healthykids #happymom #healthcoachlife #eatwellfeelwell

Who says we can’t eat pizza🤔? Pizza has been commonly known as junk food, an unhealthy choice. With it’s many processed options available nowadays. Restaurants using low quality ingredients that are high in fat, sodium and even sugar such as: refined flour, processed meat and dairy products, pizza isn’t the healthiest food choice. Does this mean we have to completely eliminate it from our diet? Nope! It’s all about quality & making wise choices. My ♥️ and I, are both are health conscious; shop organic groceries, eat mostly wholefoods and often cook at home. However, we do love pizza (and he loves Kenzo😂)➕ love to go out for dinner and so when we do, we chose restaurants that are using high quality organic ingredients and that are serving food that’s made with love and passion. @greenspot is one of those places. Veg or non veg - Treat yourself to a glass of biodynamic wine 🍷 and a slice of pizza 🍕 !

Who says we can’t eat pizza🤔? Pizza has been commonly known as junk food, an unhealthy choice. With it’s many processed options available nowadays. Restaurants using low quality ingredients that are high in fat, sodium and even sugar such as: refined flour, processed meat and dairy products, pizza isn’t the healthiest food choice. Does this mean we have to completely eliminate it from our diet? Nope! It’s all about quality & making wise choices. My ️ and I, are both are health conscious; shop organic groceries, eat mostly wholefoods and often cook at home. However, we do love pizza (and he loves Kenzo) love to go out for dinner and so when we do, we chose restaurants that are using high quality organic ingredients and that are serving food that’s made with love and passion. @greenspot is one of those places. Fresh aloe is great to add to a smoothie for internal and health. Not the best smelling, I will admit. So, I slice and take out the gel. I cut in cubes. Then freeze in a zip lock flat so I can just break off a cube and add. #chroniclesofahealthcoach #healthcoachlife

We hear it all the time- drink more 💦 water!- and they’re right.  We should drink more water because it flushes out toxins, balances our blood sugar, nourishes our skin and way more. .
.
So, here are 3 ways to drink more of this good stuff:
1.  Add slices of lemon, lime, orange or cucumber to your glass
2.  Use a glass or bottle that you LOVE, making it a treat to drink from 
3.  Drink a mug of warm water with lemon first thing in the morning:  comforting and detoxifying. 
Now, go drink up!  I will too. 😆💦

Saturday mornings are my favorite💘 I just like the calm energy, the quiet, and the ME time. I've read this book before by @jensincero but something told me this morning that it's time to read it again ✌I think reading is soooo important. I know for me it's where I learn the most and it gives me a chance to slooow down. .
Made some of my yummy decaf coffee ☕ and what Saturday morning would be complete without some sweet potato brownie action?! .
