I don’t care about money, and neither I think do you.
I haven’t been motivated by money or following the rules for a day in my life. And if you’re still following along here, I’m sure you haven’t been either.
It’s made me a notoriously bad employee over the years, because I’d rather () have fun, or book time off for travel and experiences that I DO care about, and AM motivated by than do what I “should.”
But here’s the thing: those of us who care deeply about having meaningful experiences, are easily frustrated by not being able to spend our time doing exactly (or as close to as possible) what we want to do - we also just generally CARE about things A LOT. And so being “bad” at something like having a “normal” job, or potentially letting someone else down bc you just gotta blow this popsicle stand to do you own thing - it creates conflict and turmoil and struggle if you don’t learn how to manage it.
Which brings me back to not being motivated by money for a minute in our lives. Because that means the “normal” ways to the kind of safety and security we’re “supposed” to want....just isn’t really going to work for you. (And even when doing your own thing...number goals just aren’t gonna do the trick!)
And so you need to get acutely familiar with what DOES motivate you. With WHY you do what you do. Why do you need to do that above anything else you could choose to do with your life? Whyyyyyyy???
(No, seriously, why? Tell me!!)
