When applying liquid lipstick I find it best to do thin layers. Wipe the wand until there's only a bit of product left and then apply the first coat. First coat should be used as a general guide so fill in your lips a little smaller than you would like. It's OKAY if this layer looks patchy or not pigment enough. Apply the second coat (thin to normal amount on applicator depending on how patchy or sheer the first coat was ) now paying special attention to the shape you want to carve. Repeat with a thin layer if necessary.
What I find this does is:
1. It allows the product to dry quicker. A lot of time when you apply a thick layer on the first coat it does not dry in time for the second coat so it ends up looking dry and thick.
2. Doing two - three thin layers allows you room to perfect your lips and give you an easier control over the product
3. I find the thin layers makes it last much longer and not as sticky as it would've been if applied in full.
Try this method out and let me know if your liquid lipstick last longer!
