3 weeks has flown by. Here’s how I do my lean cut 🏽️
1) Calorie deficit: To start on your lean journey you need to be in a SLIGHT deficit. Your energy expenditure needs to be greater than the calories you eat.
Don’t go insane and make your calories ridiculously low. You’ll be cranky, hungry and sad. Each person is different so fit your calories and macros to your life style.
I eat 6 meals a day,and I am satisfied by the end like a happy bear
2) Weights and Cardio
I said it, cardio. I know to some it’s the devil in disguise but I have never felt better. I do an hour of weights in the morning. Whether this be barbell/ Dumbell or machines and in the evenings I do a spin class. Sure after cardio I feel my soul floats away but I’m energised and hungry after! 🚴🏽♂️
Don’t go crazy with the cardio. I do a 30 min spin class 4 days a week and that’s perfect. Don’t spend hours tirelessly running. Cardio comes in many forms, Zumba, skipping, twerking? Make it fun for you 🤸🏽♀️
Ladies, don’t be thirsty. Grab that water and drink up. It helps to cleanse your body and stay full. A lot of snacking comes for boredom, so drink 2 glasses of water and if you are still hungry, have a meal!
Don’t just drink water instead of fuelling your body.
I love sleep more than anything. And I make sure I always get myself to bed by 10:30pm to be awake by 6:30am. If I don’t sleep, I’m unmotivated.
Get good rest so you don’t injure yourself at the gym. I’m seen so many tired sleepies drop weights on their toesies
5) Motivation and happiness
Staying motivated and being happy is imperative. Unfortunately, there is no magic pill or tea that will help you get a six pack. It’s hard work and dedication, after a week it becomes very easy to fall into a rhythm of exercise and meal prepping. And being happy with who you are and with those around you, makes the journey better and last a life time.
This isn’t a quick fix or to get beach ready but a realisation that my food should match my hard exercise.
