Huge confrontation on 4 days between the SSP’s burrs and the EK’s burrs (new coffee). Both are of course aligned.
The results are obviously meaningful only towards my brewing style and my recipes, on light roast coffees. My colleagues and I were unanimous, the SSP’s did better in espresso and the EK’s were much more interesting in V60. The SSP’s tended to extract more, it is sweeter but also more bitter, stronger and a bit less complex.
In espresso, with the SSP’s it was cleaner, more pure, and often less soft. Compares to them, the EK’s were more tense, a bit more difficult to drink sometime. Less body.
In V60, it was the EK’s which did better with a more complex aspect and more elegant. The SSP’s gave a V60 sometimes a bit too tough, rough.
As I only do V60 at home , I decided to reset the original burrs. I will keep the SSP’s for later.
