Mamas, this post today is for you. So many times recently, I am seeing where so many moms are just tired. Run down. Exhausted. Who are pouring everything into their children and their families and they are forgetting about taking care of themselves.
Mamas, I am right there with you in wanting to do everything for my family. I continually put their needs above my own, and it's something that comes naturally to do, at different levels of necessity depending on the season you are in. But mamas. As important as it is to pour into others and especially our children, we have to fill our own cup too. If we are pouring ourselves so much into them and leaving nothing for ourselves, we are doing our own hearts a tremendous disservice. When is the last time that you did something for yourself, even if only for a few minutes? When's the last time you did something just for YOU, even if it's something simple like going for a walk by yourself for 20 minutes where you had time with your own thoughts, getting a massage or a manicure, had lunch with a friend, or even bought yourself something instead of buying something for your littles yet again?
I know it may sound selfish but I promise you it is not. As much as we want to serve those around us, we have to take care of ourselves too. So mamas, today, if you are reading this and you know it's been too long since you've done something for yourself, I encourage you to do something where YOU are a priority this week. Take care of yourself, so that you can take even better care of your kids and everyone around you too.
If you know of a mama who needs to hear this, tag her in the comments below. We are all in this together, and this may just be the encouragement she needs to hear today. - 5 hours ago
