So today I woke up exhausted and SORE AF. Trust. Had zero motivation to hit up the gym again. .
My sure-fire way to beat a lack of gym motivation?
1- Chanel my inner Goku with a nerdy Dragon Ball gym shirt.
2- Drink matcha shots as a pre. (***WARNING: Don’t drink matcha shots on an empty tummy. Or if you don’t like matcha. I mean, I love matcha and I can still hardly get a matcha shot down. Checkout today’s story to see what I mean...)
3- Drag myself to the gym anyways b/c I know I will always feel better after a work out. .
So maybe I WAS sore and tired and sluggish, but by the time I got going (and the matcha caffeine kicked in) I just fell into the zone and smashed my box squats 5x3 (last set a plus set of 10). Plus a bonus 120lbs AMRAP just to really crush the day. .
And don’t be fooled by those little plates on the bar! The bands adds at least about 80lbs of resistance, if not more because I am tall!! 🙃 (5”11’ yo). .
I did feel better after hitting up the gym, too, at least mentally. I am still totally exhausted and sore...but Wednesday is rest day!! So I’ve got that to look forward to tomorrow!!
