I got a request the other day to write something that might help you improve your mental strength in general life. I always think it is hard to give general advice like that, but I think these 4 points by the author John Perry cover a lot of ground when it comes to what it takes to have mental strength in any endeavor in life! Here is my personal interpretation of the 4 CS!
I think a lot of people (including myself at times) avoid challenges beacuse they don't want to put themselves in situations where they are uncomfortable because they might fail. By avoiding challenges, you have basically already taken yourself out of the race! Go towards challenges and be comfortable with failing over and over again until you succeed!
To become successful in anything in life you have to stick to it and keep going, even when things get tough! To commit to something that is not really a sure thing can be really hard, but then again the option of giving up I believe is even harder and more heartbreaking!
Take charge of your actions and control the parts of your life that you can actually change. A lot of times we get stuck wasting time and energy on things that are out of our control, which seldom leads to anything good. We shape our own future by focusing on the right things in life, the things we can actually do something about!
I believe confidence comes with experience and to get experience we have to do something over and over again until it sticks with us! The tricky thing with confidence is that you have to earn it, it isn't there from the start, therefore it can be a little scary in the beginning. Endure the initial doubts, setbacks and hardships of whatever it is you are trying to achieve and eventually you will have done this action so many times that you are left with nothing but confidence!
