Once in a while life gives you a chance to switch from something usual to unknown. The first one gives you comfort and a fake feeling of total control, no risks and a granted minimal result. The second one is a 100% lottery. It's like blue and red pill in the Matrix. Which one will you choose? I've chosen Green.
To say honestly I had a usual travel alone plan for my trip to Riga. And I followed it until I met Kieran Green from England in "Mr. Hostel". After hour of talking we decided to find a pub, but suddenly we found something better — Cecilia from Spain! And from that moment the trip began to be curiouser and curiouser every minute.
We've visited a casino and a rock club, we sang "Kings of Leon" in karaoke, I was kissed by stranger girls, we drank free cocktails in honour of St. Patrick and fought the hangover together, walked around the old town, parkoured and almost froze to death several times. And of course we discussed every topic in the world: Brexit, generation gap, management, Chernobyl, languages, street art, USSR, one night stands, religion, Catalonia, economics, accents, stereotypes, alcohol, homophobia, visas, education and everything again spiced with my bad black humour. But for some reason most of the attention we paid to the hostel manager's ass — it can't be explained, you just need to see Jasper's bum or listen to the song about it.
I expected to spend 2 days alone in Riga. But my trip to Baltics turned out to be magic with help of an English boy, a Spanish girl and a Dutch bum. And the only thing that made me feel alone was homecoming.
Thank you for this #violentflow , team!
