I started out my morning with a 5k🏃‍♀️ with the husband a.k.a dad in the dark. I think I told you last week that one of our morning runs was pretty tough and I felt like I was chasing him to keep up. That run was more difficult in regards to my breathing.  This morning, I think this past weekend's 8 miles of hills caught up with me. My breathing was fine but my legs hurt, were heavy, and felt exhausted.

So, this afternoon when I remembered Kitti and Jenny were doing hills at Butler, my first thoughts were, "I got my run in this morning. I don't need to go." Then I also remembered I've  been complaining about my slow runs, increased weight and my post about "results are created outside of your comfort zone." I put my running clothes on for the second time  today and drove all the way to the other side of Indy and did hills and stairs with these ladies. 
We then had a little belated birthday🎁🎈🎉 celebration for Jenny with singing and a cupcake🎂 from Kitti. I left all the singing to Kitti. It was best for all within hearing range.

Boy oh boy it felt great to finally be back to the daily grind chasing those early morning endorphins. Even if it was just an easy 9km midweek longish run, while getting back into the swing of things again. Considering I’ve been hit for six with sickness all of last week and not able to do much running.

Training run  with just under 3 weeks until the Halliburton 50-miler. Today’s run was a full marathon distance from Liberty Village to Port Credit and back again. Great weather - overcast, with some light winds by the waterfront. Body felt pretty good, despite the brutal chafing. Thanks so much to Alicia for biking to meet me at the 25k point with some snacks and a fresh pair of clothes 🏃🏻‍♀️❤️🙏🏻🍌🍎

Marathon Training Week 3 - Track Workout ✔️ Shortened workout due to life 🤷🏻‍♀️ 1.5 mile warm up • .50mi at GP - 15sec x 2 • .50mi at GP - 30sec x 1 • 3:00 minute recovery in between • 1.25 mile cool down + some ice cream after 🍦 Original workout was 1 mile repeats at GP - 10 .. but since I was shortening the mileage, I increased the pace .

月曜練習は合宿の疲れがあったのでゆるめのメニュー
440m×20周 4分40秒ペース
150mインターバル3本
440m最後の2周は突然の全力疾走、
150mは24、23、23
合宿のダメージが残ってたようで走り終わったら足がパンパンでした😅
翌日は軽く疲労抜きジョグで片道4キロの公園まで、
行ってすぐ帰るのももったいないので
1000m3本、4分30、20、10
余裕の設定が結構バテました😅

今日から再び宇都宮へ、
良いコースを探して来ます🏃🏻 #ig栃木ランナーズ

Saturday’s adventures with @emilysaulboston hit the spot. We both had a less than ideal 2017, and were talking about how freaking awesome it is that our bodies can literally power us up mountains when at that exact moment, we crested our first peak and one of the highest summits in Vermont. On the day we climbed nearly 4000’ in just a couple of miles, but it felt like the culmination of so many months of struggle and a sign of amazing times to come.

Run Larapinta Stage Three led us into the remarkable Ormiston Gorge section of the trail. It’s no surprise the “Pound Loop” is one of the most popular hikes as its beauty was incredible! 💕While at 22kms it was 2kms longer than stage 2; it took us an hour less to get around

My friend / Physical Therapist did a gait analysis for me today🤗 He found some imbalances that are likely the culprits in my recurring hamstring issues. I won’t go into the boring details, but it’s definitely good to have targeted solutions, especially going into the increased mileage of marathon training!🎉 Now that the hammy is finally happy again, dang it, I want to keep it that way!🙌

Así que busque por allá y por acá, encontrando los siguientes y útiles consejos al respecto:

En caso de que el corredor tenga asma se recomienda utilizar el inhalador justo 30 minutos antes de comenzar a correr. Además, es fundamental realizar un buen calentamiento.

Es importante evitar salir a correr durante los días más secos y por los lugares más contaminados de polen: los parques y ciertas calles y avenidas concurridas.

Los síntomas de alergia suelen aparecer una hora después del entrenamiento. Por eso, se recomienda una ducha y cambio de ropa tras el mismo.

En caso de cansancio o fatiga extrema es mejor posponer el entrenamiento. Esto se debe a que nuestro sistema inmunológico reaccionará más rápidamente a los factores alergénicos si estamos cansados.

En los días más secos, en caso de no poder abandonar la rutina de entrenamiento, puedes cubrir tu boca y nariz con una mascarilla. Así, disminuirá la cantidad de contaminación o factores alergénicos que entran en las vías respiratorias.

Si la alergia ataca a tus ojos y sientes picazón lo mejor es que salgas a correr con gafas de sol y utilizar gotas 30 min antes de correr.

Evitar salir a correr a primera hora de la mañana y a última hora de la noche dado que son las horas en las que existe un mayor nivel de polen en el aire

Modificar la dieta alimenticia también afecta positivamente a los corredores con alergia. Comer más fruta y verdura, beber más agua y eliminar el exceso de ácido es primordial a la hora de combatir los síntomas de cualquier tipo de alergia.

Finale am Bodensee. Nach 75km Rad um den Untersee nochmal schnell die Laufschuhe geschnürt und die Uferpromenade unsicher gemacht. Die Gegend hier unten eignet sich bestens zum Radfahren, Laufen und Schwimmen. 200km Rad durch 3 Länder, 26km Laufen und 2 Kilometer Schwimmen in der Tasche oder besser auf der Uhr und jetzt geht es leider schon wieder in die Heimat. Hat auf jeden Fall mega Spaß gemacht das spontane Triathlonwochenende und ich freue mich schon auf das nächste Trainingslager.. dann etwas länger 😉

I still wish I had a bigger hill to do these on, but I've become a big fan of hill sprints as a part of marathon training! As I go up and down the hill I try to focus on keeping the same line each way and I love the final product where I can see the impact of my steps on the grass.

Confession: marathon training has made me immeasurably stronger as a runner while also making all of the mundane aspects of life seem like mountains. One of those tasks for me is grocery shopping and today that it me in the ass. I had none of my staples (milk, eggs, chicken) so I cobbled together a less than substantive lunch today and it showed on these sprints. By sprint five I knew I didn't have my desired 12 in me so I cut back and only did mine. I flew up the hill for my last sprint... and almost passed out. Lesson learned!

Spent a little more time in my room this morning and am feeling pretty good about the progress...made my welcome gifts “bubbling with excitement”. Then had a great run this afternoon ... @hozhorunner4 -  5.25 miles - I have loose fat around my tummy. I hide it well with loose clothing. My butt is flat. No cleavage.🤦🏻‍♀️I do have strong legs and mental strength to carry me far. It’s easy to think that a runner’s body is the one we see as we scroll through IG. I know I’m capable to run longer distances as a mom in her 40s. Friends, never doubt what your body can do! Happy Friday 🙌🏽.

Tonight is my last night in Orono so of course I’m doing my own self made farewell tour 🤷🏼‍♀️ which obviously had to include one of my favorite trail runs, so I chose river loop 🏃🏼‍♀️& while I was running, I couldn’t help but reminisce on all the late August/early September evening runs I’ve done on these trails through the years. While I’m certainly going to miss it more than I can even begin to put into words, I also couldn’t help but feel relief: to be going for a run purely for the joy of it. For so long I was caught up in what I now realize were obsessive thoughts that I’m sure most if not all runners can relate to. I’d have to run a certain amount of miles every day, no more and no less. I felt guilty about taking a day off. I’d have to hit a certain pace on my runs. I’d make myself do my whole run without stopping even once, whether it be 3 miles or 10. My relationship with running still hasn’t been fully repaired but I’m realizing it is a healing process in a way. Finding your own balance is so important in order to live the life you love and love the life you live. & on that note I’m going to go devour a buff mac n cheese calzone from Ohop (bc key word BALANCE!) 🍕 May you all find success in making individual peace and trusting your own process ✌🏼

So nagdala ako ng dalawang klasi ng rain jacket  kasi alm ko khit ulan lang parang yelo sa lamig na para bang tinunaw lang,pagdating sa green mountain nagtataka ako bakit walang nagbibike, hiker at runners so inisip ko cgro dhil 11am na after isang loop 15km ung langit galit na galit thunderstorm dko alm gagawin sa takot knowing walang puno don sakit ung mata ko sa mga lightning, kaso pauwi 7km pa first time ko tumakbo mag isa tapos ganon sitwasyon gusto kong bilisan kasi downhill di kaya kasi sobrang muddy bigla at ang dulas dko na nga napansin ung isang grupo ng deer sa harap kona.
