I was the girl that used to spend an hour on the treadmill or elliptical. Not because I loved cardio, trust me I didn’t, but I was so intimidated to use weights. 
I wasn’t sure what to do when, how do it, what day to do it, who was watching, who was judging, I mean every excuse in the book. 
Well the book has been thrown out and the excuses are gone and I’m in love. 
I’m obsessed with lifting weights and I feel 10x better after a lift sessions than cardio. 
I love being able to find my grove in the comfort of my own home free of excuses and judgement 🙌

It's been a hot minute since I've been on here. I've gone through a ton in my personal life as well as my health/fitness journey. *divorce/reconciliation
*diagnosed with arthritis in my knees/need surgery to remove bone fragments from an injury
*gave up from starving all the time/eating 20g or less carbs a day/kicking my butt in the gym with no results
*gave in to emotional eating
*gained 30 pounds
But that's in the past. I wallowed in a pit for a while, reassessed, stood up, dusted my self off, and here I am. 9 pounds from my goal weight, eating more calories a day than I have in 7 years, doing 30 mins of cardio TOTAL A WEEK vs. 2+ hours a week..living my best life. To sum things up weather you want to build muscle or lose fat you need to eat sufficient protein and lift moderately heavy weights. -
The main difference between the two phases is that you need to be in a caloric deficit for fat loss. Also you need to be in a caloric surplus for building muscle. The formulas in the picture should help determine what your calories need to be for those goals. Normally the more muscular the more you can eat in either phase of your diet. However that also depends on the person.

My input: Cardio should be used in both phases for cardiovascular health. That could be any type of cardio you want. Like with anything in this health and fitness lifestyle consistency is key. -
You can technically lose weight without lifting as long as your in caloric deficit, but the goal in muscle building is to retain as much muscle as possible. That is why we still lift heavy in a fat loss phase. -

As promised leg day. It is so important to keep your legs shoulder-width apart when you want to activate quads & glutes. 🍑Also make sure you stick out that bum like you’re sitting in a chair for great form! FOCUS ON FORM. Add weight later. The kettlebell swing is based on the deadlift movement pattern and hits almost every muscle in the body. The Kettlebell Swing should be thought of as a pulling movement. Also at the bottom of the kettlebell swing you are decelerating its load and forcing the muscles to absorb and then reverse the swings momentum. It is for this reason that you can get some truly amazing results without having to use a really heavy kettlebell for the Swing.

Are you incorporating super and combo sets into your workout? If not, here's why you should!

1️⃣ Time: in terms of volume and "work", you'll get a lot more done in less time. And you can reduce the days you spend in the gym.

2️⃣ Metabolic Effect: limiting the rest periods and working multiple muscles in conjunction will increase your heart rate (more calories burned). Additionally, studies show that the increased intensity results in a longer elevated energy expenditure post workout!

3️⃣ Intensity/Hypertrophy: some research shows that super setting increases the overall intensity of your workouts, in terms of muscle activation and exhaustion. This leads to greater hypertrophy, which opens the door to more growth (in strength and/or mass). The muscle groups and exercises you decide to super/combo set will depend on your goals, access to equipment, and personal preferences.

It targets the posterior chain and essentially you are loading and de-loading the back of the body as you accelerate and decelerate the kettlebell.
Be warned the eccentric or deceleration part of the kettlebell swing is what causes muscle soreness so you could be walking like John Wayne for a few days following a good set of kettlebell swings.
The kettlebell swing is a dynamic – explosive- movement. As the kettlebell descends from the top part of the movement gravity takes its toll and the overall weight of the bell increases, so a 44-pounder (20 kg) kettlebell will feel much heavier at the bottom of the kettlebell swing.

Körde det första gången för 1 1/2 vecka sedan och han precis 8 varv och va helt färdig.. 😥 idag 10 varv med 1 minut 11 sek till godo! 💪 så blir till att höja 5kg till nästa  vända 😥 sjukt kul att köra nåt nytt som får en att svettas som aldrig förr! 💦💦 #faxeatletklubb #screwcardio

I am not a big fan of cardio, specifically the treadmill.  I find it boring and the equivalent of buying a new car.  The depreciation (in the case of cardio the caloric burn after a while goes down) after the initial drive kills the appeal for me.

Thankfully, people a lot bro-ier than me came up with a concept called metabolic finishers.  A metabolic finisher is an intense exercise or series of exercises performed at the end of the workout that's designed to ensure that you've burnt every last drop of gas from the tank.

Worked up to 585x1 (after 2 failed attempts where I couldn't seem to get it off the ground)
Then 495x5

Competition bench
275x10, then 2x8

Then I taught a 30 min kettlebell class, did some PT exercises, and did 22 minutes of cardio on the treadmill (gasp).

If you're cutting, to make dieting seem effortless, eat lots of non-starchy vegetables. They will help you feel full and make the diet much more pleasant. (This is only if you're someone who has trouble feeling hungry while dieting).

But what if you're a skinny guy with no appetite? Well, focus on each proteins and fats. I'd still advise you to get 3 Cups of Non-starchy vegetables per day, but if you feel like this is too much food, you can always blend them. If you really want to take it to another extreme, you can blend your vegetables AND your chicken breasts like my friend @adamhayley1 -
But to be honest with you, I'd rather pick the middle stomach and fill it up with 1200 Calories of beef, because I love beef like Ramsay Bolton likes being a dick.

Squats today. 405lbs 3x8. Felt a bit nauseous from the eggs I ate earlier, but I pushed through. Didn't puke so I guess it's a good day. Did 100 more reps of t-spine drills, some hamstring curls, and some isometric supermans too.

2. 75 pounds of sand ( 40 lbs at home Depot for $4.25)
3. Duct tape
