Still sick. My eating was not healthy, but was not bad calorie wise. I chose quick easy stuff. I did make it through work. I came home and NyQuiled myself up and just woke up. I have an event I’m supposed to volunteer for today. I will help for as long as I am able. I’m hacking pretty good and don’t want to get the kids or others sick. I am pretty sick. Yesterday after work I came home and took medicine and took a nap before I went out for ladies night. I felt awful the whole time I was there. I should have stayed in bed, but I really didn’t want to miss time with my daughter and friends. I didn’t stay late though and came straight home and took more medicine and straight to bed. I’m still feeling rough, but I’m going to push through at work. Breakfast: iced coffee with unsweetened cashew milk and one stevia and 1/2 protein bar. Lunch:  Mexican chicken cauliflower skillet. Snack:  1/2 protein bar. Dinner at the Thai House was 2 chicken satay skewers and I forgot what it was called, but it ended up having 3 shrimp , glass noodles, eggs, onions, scallions,  and carrots and I added peanut sauce. I ate 3/4 of it and I had 1 glass of wine. How I’m feeling this week💪 I’m really proud of myself. I’m feeling stronger and really pushing myself in the gym. I am a good sore right now. I feel great. My eating has been clean too. Unfortunately, I woke up with a sore throat this morning. I am hoping it’s the pollen. I still have my gym bag packed and my meals ready to go for the day. I am also going out tonight for a ladies night. I am prepared and have a plan. Hump day goals met!  Breakfast: iced coffee with unsweetened cashew milk and one stevia and 1/2 protein bar. Lunch: chicken Alfredo made with cashew milk and zucchini. Snack: 1/2 protein bar. HIIT workout done and lower body on weights. I was starving when I got home so I ate a banana. Dinner: chicken tenders made with almond flour and broccoli tots; coconut water. I’m trying to decide if I want Halo top later. I am still hungry. You may ask, Ash why are you flexing?! I had a realization this morning in my Tone & Sculpt class that last time this year I was a person that strictly did cardio, with the odd ab workout and yoga stretch.

My cross training has come so far. This time last year I was strictly a runner. I couldn't do more than 4 pushups and I definitely didnt have any upper body strength. Now I am a more well rounded athlete. 
I'm looking forward to this year's marathons. I'll have the strength to help drive me further, farther.

I had a very good day on plan today and killed in the gym. Breakfast:  iced coffee with unsweetened cashew milk and only ate 1/2 my protein bar. Lunch: meal prepped chicken Alfredo made with cashew milk and zucchini. After work did a killer HIIT bootcamp workout, and lower body on weights. I also went up on my weights. Gains!! My headphones were dead too, but I pushed through any way. Dinner:  had a meeting with a potluck so I put together a taco salad and brought coconut water to drink. here is a comparison of the first day of my cut 4 weeks ago and the right as of this morning

just goes to show that the process is slow, and yes some people want to really rush their dieting phase to just lose as much weight as possible in the shortest amount of time 👎

reason why I always have chose the longer route when dieting is because
-
1️⃣ maximal muscle retention vs crash dieting where you end up not only losing fat but also a great amount of muscle
2️⃣ more sustainable long term vs restricting calories/binge eating
3️⃣ better mental focus vs being exhausted on low amounts of food and really depleting your body
4️⃣ periodized nutrition vs bro dieting
5️⃣ giving proper time to get lean vs rushing the process and losing all the progress you worked so hard for during your gaining phase

this is why I’ve always chosen the route of taking my time to lean out vs restrictive eating because in the long term your just doing yourself a major disservice

Shout out to my mom who ran an 8 mile relay race today.. each team member had to run a 2 mile leg.. it just so happened that two people from other teams dropped out so she had to run on their relay teams as well... ALL 3 teams she ran on came in first place— masters co-ed, open co-ed, and masters women. Three first place finishes & the only person out there to run on 3 different teams 🤩 oh, let’s not forget she averaged sub 6 minutes for it all

Some people can get either their eating right or constant workouts, but a lot of people have trouble doing both. I don’t blame you, it’s hard! @debbieenckcullen is one of those few that has it down pat and that is why she gets these results! I am so proud of you my dear friend ! You have went through a hell of a year (6 surgeries) and came out determined to get back to yourself. You inspire me!!

(Literally and figuratively)

To say we are lucky to have found each other is an understatement. The lifestyle we have chosen requires a lot of commitment both physically and mentally. As competitors we keep each other on track with food and accountable for working out. We support each other with the mental ups and downs in our on and off season. We have learned to balance family, friends and our jobs while sticking to our goals. 
It truly is something special.

Busy day!! Went to work and help with one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. It includes lots of food, but I brought my meal and stuck with my plan. I am really proud of myself. Breakfast: iced coffee with unsweetened cashew milk and one stevia. Got my 10 minute bootcamp workout in before I left for work. Lunch:  leftover chicken Alfredo made with cashew milk and zucchini. Snack: protein bar.  I did have some lemonade. Dinner:  We went to my daughter’s and I had a roasted chicken leg, 1:4 cup mashed potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts and 2 glasses of wine. For dessert I brought sugar free/low carb chocolate cupcakes from Be Fit Eat Fit. I forgot to take a picture.
