Home made Spicy Sushi 🌶 🥢 Make sure you have all the necessary ingredients:
Bamboo mat for rolling out sushi.
Nori sea weed sheets (make sure the sea weed is in dark green color. If you find any traces of purple or violent color then simply ignore it. It only means that it’s an old out dated stock. Secondly go for Yamamoto brand which is one of the Japanese popular brands).
Vinegar or a Japanese powdered sushi flavor
1 cup sticky rice.
Finely chopped vegetables of your choice. I used green onions, carrots 🥕, long strips of cucumber 🥒, Radish, bell peppers, sweet corn, cilantro.
4 oz meat of your choice (optional).
Buffalo hot sauce.
Salt and pepper for garnishing.
Cook sticky rice but make sure you add in extra cup or two of water to make it soggy and sticky. Make sure you add vinegar or the sushi flavored powder to it and mix well. You can spice up by adding tandoori sauce to it.
Now place the sea weed on a sushi roll along with initial layer coated with rice followed with the vegetables and optional meat of your choice. My personal advise l, don’t stack too much of anything. Next comes the sushi rolling where there numerous ways to do it but I prefer the simple or a regular roll with help of bamboo mat. Make sure you press is tight and firm or else your sushi will fall apart.
Next comes serving and dining. Chop the sushi rolls into medium sized. Too thin or too thick would not be appealing to the eyes . Garnish with cilantro, crushed nuts of your choice and a buffalo sauce on the side along with the famous wasabi and soy sauce.
Just an FYI I’ve once dined a Japanese restaurant and those guys managed to all the above said process in less than 5 mins but mine took about 20 mins to prepare excluding the time it took for cooking the sticky rice.
